Meet Christy Neff of Heaven Sent Beauty Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Neff.

Christy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my journey at a young age. After graduating high school, I initially enrolled in college for business, but during my first semester I realized the traditional path wasn’t where I felt called to be. I’ve always had a creative side and knew I wanted to be an artist while also building something of my own.
At 19, I enrolled in nail school at Creative Images Institute and began pursuing a career in the beauty industry. Like many artists in this field, a lot of my growth came from hands-on experience, self-education, and a commitment to constantly improving my craft. What started as a passion for nails slowly turned into a much bigger vision.
Over the years, I worked hard to build a loyal clientele and eventually transitioned from being an independent nail technician to opening my own storefront. Today, I’m the owner of Heaven Sent Beauty Lounge, where our goal is to create more than just a place to get beauty services — we focus on providing a welcoming, high-quality experience for clients while also creating opportunities for beauty professionals to grow in their careers.
It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the community support that vision. Last year, we were honored to be named a finalist for Dayton’s Best Manicure of 2025, which meant a lot because it reflects the trust and loyalty of our clients.
Looking back, taking that leap early on helped shape both the business and the community we’re building today

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was definitely not a smooth road. One of the hardest parts was feeling like nail school did not fully prepare me for real-world technical side of the industry it gave me the basics, but not the level of education I needed to truly master the craft, especially with acrylic and product knowledge. I spent a lot of my time self teaching, practicing and seeking out better training to improve my skills. Looking back those obstacles taught me resilience, made my skill stronger in my craft and ultimately helped me become more intentional about the standards and quality of service i provide and now strive to carry on in the salon.

Heaven Sent Beauty Lounge is a beauty salon focused on creating a high-quality, welcoming experience for every client who walks through our doors. We specialize in nail services, waxing, facials, and other beauty treatments designed to help clients maintain their beauty routines in a relaxing, professional environment. Our salon was built with the belief that beauty services should feel consistent, reliable, and enjoyable—not rushed or transactional.

What truly sets us apart is our commitment to quality over quantity. We prioritize attention to detail, a calm atmosphere, and building long-term relationships with our clients. Many of our guests come to us not just for a service, but for a space where they feel comfortable, cared for, and confident in the results every time.

As a woman-owned business in the Kettering area, I’m proud to have created a space that supports both clients and beauty professionals. Our goal is to continue growing a salon that feels welcoming to the community while maintaining the high standards and experience our clients have come to expect from Heaven Sent Beauty Lounge.
