Hidden Gems: Meet Pamela Mills of PKM Life Transitions LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Mills.

Hi Pamela, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began as and administer in Long Term Care but felt I could work more for the individual as a therapist/Social Worker. I completed my Master in Social Work at St Louis University. I then moved into Hospice Social Work in central Illinois. I moved to Ohio in 2008 after the Hospice
Program I was working for closed. After a few months back in the long
Term care industry here I decided there was a need for services working with senior citizens in their homes. I then began working with Ohio Department on Aging through their Passport Program.

Initially I started as a one person office but soon found I needed assistance and began bringing on other therapist and office staff to assist.
We began to see other referrals from the community and have expanded in that area. Our newest areas
Of expansion include working with the Veterans Administration. We provide mental health services to Veterans. We have also expanded our skills in the suicide prevention area. Training and working with those who threaten suicide as well as the families that are in crisis.
The Next Generation MyCare Ohio program is the States newest Medicaid
Program that we work with for the low income citizens of Ohio.
We work to accommodate all those who contact us for services. If it is not a specialty we work with we will refer you to someone who does.
As things become more involved with AI and other social media we work to maintain our methods and ideas current to use with our clients.
Our services don’t require a doctors referral so anyone can feel free to call and make an appointment. Our number is 419-722-8853. Our web site is pkmlifetransitions.com. We have several therapist/clinician and will work on a good fit with your therapist.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We have had several challenges working with the insurance companies. They have changed the rules several times can arbitrarily deny a claim for any reason they want.

As you know, we’re big fans of PKM Life Transitions LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We have been in business since 2008 with Wapakoneta being our home base. We cover almost half the state of Ohio with therapist in 9 counties. We go into the home of the elderly or disabled.
We offer hypnosis, are trained in EMDR, use child therapy techniques and are trained in suicide prevention.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
There have been a core group of people who have provided support as the business grew. Robert and Monica Hudson have assisted with the ground floor planning and field work. Carla Foust is responsible for billing and working with the insurance companies. My therapist staff have been supportive and take on several individuals who require a highly skilled level of mental health services.
