Today we’d like to introduce you to Viraj Parikh.
Hi Viraj, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my my professional journey starting 1985, when I immigrated to this country and wanted to do something special. I started offering beauty service doing eyebrows threading , waxing from our home with very limited resources. Through my dedication and perseverance I turn my skills into a small business. I steadily expanded my service to different offering like facials and bridal hairdos, makeup. As time goes the word started spreading around the community and I started getting more work from different regions of town. I started travelling and providing the service for bride during their wedding.
I earned Bachelor of Arts degree from my hometown in Sociology and Child Psychology which enhanced my ability to understand and care for my clients on personal level. I later attended school of Esthetic School to receive professional training and certification needed to start my own day spa. Also worked in two different salon to gain hands on experience and confidence.
During this time the local news paper The Plain Dealer published a small article showing my talents. Which boost my confidence to go into my own business.
I started my own Day Spa in 2012 with providing personalized skincare services. As the business started growing with the help of loyal customers I added few more services like Microblading.
My journey continues till to date and very proud of my achievements and hard work.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While going through starting new business likewise most of the small business I went through some tough time for cash flow and marketing for acquiring new clients . The biggest challenge for me is to mange the business while I was working to provide the service my clients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am quick learner and provider of personalized services. I am henna artist and can do henna design for a bride with patience and confident. I can do the work sitting on one spot for 4-5 hours non stop.
As I said I keep my cool while working and building relations with the clients for life.
What’s next?
As I am at the age of retirement I don’t have big plan for expansions or big changes just continue what I doing till I retire.
