Meet Sharece Miller-Curry of Miller-Curry Law Office LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharece Miller-Curry.

Hi Sharece, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always known I wanted to build something that blended strategy, protection, and creativity, but I just didn’t know at first what that would look like.

I began my career as an attorney focused on helping people navigate some of the most stressful seasons of their lives, from misdemeanor criminal matters, evictions, personal injury, and business formation. What I quickly realized is that many of those situations could have been avoided with the right guidance on the front end. Business owners weren’t failing because they lacked passion, no, they were failing because they lacked protection.

At the same time, I’ve always been entrepreneurial at heart. I’ve owned a licensed and bonded urban winery, a nail salon franchise, and a wine bar. I understand what it feels like to sign a lease, hire staff, negotiate contracts, and lie awake at night wondering if you missed something legally. That lived experience changed the way I practice law. I don’t just draft documents, I think like a business owner who wants to build wealth and avoid preventable mistakes.

That’s how my brand evolved.

Today, I focus heavily on helping entrepreneurs protect what they’re building. I do this through developing and/or reviewing contracts, proper entity formation, compliance guidance, and strategic legal structure. My goal is simple: I want business owners to focus on being profitable, not on being sued.

The Pouur Decisions podcast was born from that same mission, but with a twist. I wanted to create a space where business owners could share the real story behind their success: the mistakes, the pivots, the lessons learned the hard way. We talk about the “poor decisions” that became powerful turning points. It’s honest, practical, and often surprisingly funny because entrepreneurship is never a straight line.

The podcast has also allowed me to merge another passion of mine — wine and conversation. There’s something powerful about sitting down, pouring a glass, and having authentic discussions about business, risk, and growth. It makes the legal world feel less intimidating and more accessible.

Where I am today is the result of combining all parts of who I am, attorney, entrepreneur, wine lover, and storyteller. I don’t see law as paperwork. I see it as protection for visionaries.

If someone walks away from reading this and decides to tighten up their contracts, formally structure their business, or tune in to an episode of Pouur Decisions, then I’ve done what I set out to do, to make business law feel both empowering and approachable.

And hopefully save them from a few costly “poor decisions” along the way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I love this question because the honest answer is, ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Of course it has not been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t change it.

Entrepreneurship and law both require resilience. I’ve navigated launching businesses, closing businesses, shifting business models, and rebranding. I’ve had seasons where everything felt aligned, seasons where I questioned whether I was doing too much at once, and seasons where I felt like I was failing at everything. Owning a wine business, a nail salon franchise, and a wine bar while practicing law gave me real-life insight, but it also came with very real pressure. Payroll doesn’t pause because you’re tired. Leases don’t care that you’re overwhelmed. Contracts don’t soften because you’re learning.

One of the biggest struggles was learning how to transition from being “just a lawyer” to becoming a visible brand. As attorneys, we’re trained to be cautious and reserved. Stepping into podcasting, social media, and thought leadership required me to stretch beyond my comfort zone. It meant being seen. It meant being judged. It meant being willing to speak plainly about mistakes, including my own.

Another challenge was recognizing that growth requires focus. I had to refine my practice and become very intentional about the clients and services I offer. That clarity didn’t happen overnight. It came from experience and included a few “poor decisions” of my own.

But every struggle sharpened my perspective. Experiencing business challenges firsthand is exactly what allows me to advise entrepreneurs with empathy and practicality. I don’t speak in theory, I speak from lived experience.

So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But it has been purposeful. And the lessons from those difficult seasons are the very foundation of the work I do today-to help business owners protect what they’re building before the struggle becomes a lawsuit.

We’ve been impressed with Miller-Curry Law Office LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At its core, my business exists to protect entrepreneurs before problems become expensive.

I specialize in business law for owners who are serious about building real, sustainable companies, not just side hustles. That includes entity formation, contract drafting, lease review, independent contractor and employment agreements, vendor agreements, partnership structures, trademarks, and ongoing legal strategy. I also handle matters that arise when things go wrong, but my primary focus is prevention.

What I’m known for is being direct, practical, and protective. I don’t sell documents just to sell them. I help business owners understand why they need certain protections, how those protections work, and what risks they’re actually exposed to. My goal is always the same: reduce liability, protect assets, and create clarity.

What sets me apart is that I am not only an attorney, I’m an entrepreneur. I’ve owned multiple businesses across different industries. I’ve signed commercial leases. I’ve negotiated vendor contracts. I’ve hired and fired. I’ve made investments that paid off and decisions that didn’t. That lived experience shapes the advice I give. When I draft a contract, I’m not drafting from theory, I’m drafting from experience.

Another differentiator is my brand voice. Through my Pouur Decisions podcast, I normalize conversations about business mistakes and legal blind spots. Business owners don’t need more shame, they need strategy. The podcast gives people access to real stories and practical insight in a way that feels human and approachable. It also reflects how I practice law: transparent, strategic, and solution-focused.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that I’ve built something that feels both elevated and accessible. Law can feel intimidating. I’ve intentionally created a brand that feels polished but not unapproachable, protective but not alarmist. I want business owners to feel empowered when they work with me, not overwhelmed.

What I want readers to know is this: If you are operating a business without customized legal protection, you are taking a Huge risk, whether you realize it or not. Online templates and generic documents cannot account for how your business actually operates. Protection should match reality.

If you are building something meaningful, it deserves to be protected properly.

And if you’re not sure whether your foundation is solid, that’s exactly where I come in.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is protection, not just legally, but generationally.

I care deeply about helping business owners build something that lasts. For many entrepreneurs, their business is more than income. It’s freedom. It’s legacy. It’s the first step toward changing the trajectory of their family. But too often, I see brilliant, hardworking people lose momentum, and sometimes everything, simply because they weren’t properly protected.

That’s why prevention matters to me. I don’t want to meet clients for the first time when they’re being sued. I want to meet them when they’re signing their first lease, bringing on their first partner, hiring their first employee, or launching their brand. That’s where real impact happens.

Integrity also matters deeply to me. I believe in giving advice that protects people long-term, even if it’s not always the easiest or most popular answer. My role isn’t just to draft paperwork, it’s to help business owners think strategically and responsibly about risk.

And beyond business, representation matters to me. I want other women, entrepreneurs, and professionals to see that they can build brands that reflect all parts of who they are — intelligent and creative, strategic and warm. Through my legal practice and through Pouur Decisions, I try to model that you don’t have to fit into one box to be successful.

At the end of the day, what matters most is helping people feel confident that what they’re building is secure. When your foundation is solid, you can grow boldly. And that kind of peace of mind is powerful.
