Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Cross.
Hi Michael, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into entrepreneurship started the same way many great construction careers do—on the job, learning by doing. I began working with my hands early, building real-world skills in remodeling, repairs, and finish work, and I quickly learned that the difference between “good” and “great” isn’t just craftsmanship—it’s consistency, communication, and character. Over time, I gained experience across both residential and commercial projects, and that foundation shaped the standards I still operate by today.
Like most business owners, my path hasn’t been perfectly smooth. I’ve had seasons that tested me—personally and professionally—and those moments refined what I believe matters most: show up, do what you say you’ll do, and take care of people. Those lessons didn’t just make me stronger; they made me better at serving customers and leading a business with accountability and purpose.
That’s what led me to build Here2Help Home Solutions—a company designed to be different in a crowded industry. I wanted homeowners to feel confident and respected, not pressured or confused. We focus on clear expectations, clean execution, and a process that makes the client feel supported from the first conversation through the final walkthrough. The goal isn’t just to complete a project—it’s to earn trust and build long-term relationships.
Being based in the Dublin area is a point of pride for me. This community values quality, reliability, and professionalism, and I take that seriously. Many of our customers are neighbors, referrals, and families who care deeply about their homes—so we treat every project like it’s personal, because in a community like this, it is.
Today, I’m proud of where we are and even more motivated about where we’re going. I’m building a business that’s built to last—rooted in craftsmanship, strengthened by experience, and driven by a simple mission: provide real solutions, delivered with integrity, and backed by work we’re proud to stand behind.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road—and I say that with pride, because the challenges are what refined both my character and my standards.
One of the biggest obstacles has been building a business the right way while staying committed to quality. In residential remodeling, no two projects are identical. You deal with hidden conditions behind walls, shifting timelines, material availability, and the constant need to coordinate people, schedules, and expectations. That environment forces you to become disciplined: plan carefully, communicate clearly, and document everything—because trust is built in the details.
Another challenge has been the pressure that comes with entrepreneurship—especially in the early stages. Managing cash flow, investing in tools and equipment, and staying consistent through slow seasons requires a level of resilience most people never see. There were times I had to make hard decisions, absorb setbacks, and keep moving forward without cutting corners or compromising what I stand for.
And lastly, there’s the personal side: learning to carry responsibility well. When you own the outcome, you don’t get to blame circumstances. You learn to stay steady under stress, treat people fairly, and show up with integrity even when it would be easier not to.
What I’ve learned is this: obstacles aren’t the opposite of progress—they’re often the path to it. Every challenge pushed me to become more intentional, more professional, and more focused on service. I didn’t build my business on hype; I built it on craftsmanship, accountability, and the belief that people deserve someone who truly cares about their home and follows through.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Here 2Help Home Solutions ?
Here2Help Home Solutions is a company designed to be different in a crowded industry here in Central Ohio.
We focus on the kind of home improvements that people live with every day—bathrooms, kitchens, tile, showers, trim, repairs, and the “finish work” that quietly separates a job that looks okay from one that feels right. Our work isn’t loud, flashy, or rushed. It’s intentional: clean lines, solid construction, and thoughtful details that make a space feel calmer, more functional, and more like home.
What we’re known for is how we operate. We bring structure to a process that often feels chaotic for homeowners—clear communication, respect for your home, and a steady, professional rhythm from start to finish. We’re not interested in high-pressure selling or overpromising. We’d rather be the company people mention when they say, “These guys actually cared.”
Brand-wise, we’re proud of the trust we’ve earned and protected. We’re an A+ BBB accredited business, but what matters most to us is simpler than a badge: doing what we said we’d do, standing behind our work, and leaving people feeling taken care of.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is a simple summer evening that somehow felt like the whole world was perfect for a few hours. The sun was starting to drop, the air was warm, and I was outside until the streetlights came on—riding my bike, racing back and forth with friends, and laughing so hard my stomach hurt. We’d end the night sitting on the curb with an ice pop, talking about big dreams like we already had our lives figured out.
What I remember most isn’t one “big event,” it’s the feeling: being completely present, completely free, and surrounded by that easy kind of joy that only childhood has. Even now, anytime I catch that same golden-hour light, it takes me right back to that evening catching lightning bugs in a jar, playing hide n go seek in the what seemed late hours hours after midnight but was really just 9:45 or 10pm . It was just that freeing spirit that alludes us as adults. I grew up in circumstances that most would have crumbled under the poverty and the disfunction and for a while there I did, but what helped pull me out of that reality into a more positive direction was my beautiful wife Andrea of 29 years , my sons Bailey and Derek who are grown now and have started families of their own and careers and I couldn’t be more proud to be their father. they have been my most memorable childhood memory for with out them all I would have remained a child myself.
