Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Stapleton.
Hi Michael , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I got into the electrical trade through vocational school, influenced by my grandfather who was an electrician and by my family encouraging me to pursue a skilled trade. I continued my training at NCST, completed a non-union apprenticeship with Arrow Electric, and later finished my apprenticeship with IBEW Local 613 in Georgia, where I turned out as a Journeyman Wireman. In 2020, after moving back home to Pennsylvania, I started Adroit Electrical LLC and rebuilt my business from the ground up while supporting my family.
The early years were a leap of faith—balancing cash flow, finding consistent work, and growing a customer base—but the company has grown from a small part-time operation into a full-time residential and commercial electrical business serving the Edinburg, PA area. Today, I focus on providing tailored solutions for each customer while maintaining fair, consistent pricing and building a long-term, sustainable electrical business that supports my family and gives back to the community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most small businesses, there have been plenty of ups and downs. Some of the biggest challenges have been dealing with slow or late payments from contractors, hiring employees who ultimately were not the right fit, and inheriting or having to correct poor or unsafe work left behind by others.
On top of that, rebuilding a professional network after moving back to Pennsylvania was more difficult than expected. Compared to Georgia, it has taken more time and effort to make the right connections and establish consistent referral relationships in this area. All of those challenges forced me to become more disciplined with cash flow, hiring, and business systems, and ultimately helped shape how I run the company today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Adroit Electrical LLC is a residential and commercial electrical contracting company based in Edinburg, Pennsylvania. We provide full-service electrical work ranging from service upgrades and panel replacements to troubleshooting, lighting, and power infrastructure for homes and small commercial facilities.
What we are known for is reliability, communication, and clean, professional work—especially on projects where safety and accuracy matter most. A large part of our business comes from correcting unsafe or improperly installed electrical systems and helping customers and property managers get their buildings back into code-compliant, dependable condition.
What truly sets us apart is the way we work with clients. Every project is approached on a personal level and tailored to the customer’s specific needs, while still maintaining fair and consistent flat-rate pricing. Customers always know what they are getting and what it will cost before the work begins.
Brand-wise, I am most proud of the trust we have built locally in a short period of time. Adroit Electrical has grown from a small side operation into a full-time company serving both homeowners and commercial clients, and much of that growth has come through referrals and repeat customers.
I want readers to know that Adroit Electrical is a relationship-driven, safety-focused company. We are committed to building long-term partnerships with our clients, supporting the local community, and continuing to invest in the electrical infrastructure that keeps homes and businesses running safely and reliably.
How do you define success?
I define success as building a business that creates long-term stability and opportunity for my family, provides dependable and meaningful work for the people on my team, and delivers real value to the customers and community we serve.
For me, success is not just revenue growth—it is operating a company with strong systems, consistent cash flow, a trusted reputation, and the ability to reinvest into both the business and the community while continuing to build lasting wealth for my family.
