Today we’d like to introduce you to Teshawn.
Hi Teshawn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started creating from a place of instinct it was kinda just in me. I started doing talent shows in 5th grade through 8th grade. My high school years I spent at Cleveland school of the arts where I majored in vocal. Music, style, and self-expression were always how I made sense of everything, long before I even thought about fame or recognition. Over time, that instinct turned into discipline. I started redefining my sound, my look, and my point of view, understanding that being an artist today means building a world people can step into & not just releasing music.
Where I am now is the result of trusting myself, staying consistent, and allowing process and journey to be more public.
I’m still growing, but I’m grounded in who I am and what I want. Every step so far has been about becoming more honest, more intentional, and more unapologetic in my expression as an artist.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has its days. There were periods of uncertainty, self-doubt, and learning how to move without constant validation. I had to learned to navigate inconsistency, limited resources, and moments where the vision was clear but the path wasn’t.
The biggest struggle has been staying true to myself while growing…figuring out when to listen, when to protect my energy, and when to take risks without losing my identity as Teshawn. Those challenges shaped my discipline and sharpened my confidence. Looking back, those obstacles weren’t setbacks just necessary lessons that I needed to grow.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a creative & independent artist. I specialize in songwriting , visual storytelling, and brand building, turning sound into full experiences not just music. Whether it’s a song, a photoshoot, or a concept, I’m intentional about how it looks, sounds, and feels.
I’m known for my stage presence and my ability to make the audience feel me. I don’t really follow trends I make real moments, and conversation into art. My vibe is often confidence and vulnerability, polished but raw, stylish but lethal .
What I’m most proud of is building everything brick by brick . I didn’t have a blueprint or a handout…I learned through my experience & mistakes. Every step has been self-made, and it’s shaping the vision.
I think what sets me apart is that I move with purpose…I understand branding…I understand timing…and I understand myself. I know who I am, and I show up as that..unapologetically. I’m not just making music for right now..I’m building something that timeless. I Am TESHAWN.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Don’t network to get on. Network to be known. The ones who win aren’t the loudest in the room they’re the ones who stay visible and keep improving.
Stay true to YOU & what’s for YOU will be for YOU!
What’s been working for me has been just showing up authentically myself…letting my craft just speak for itself.
Once you know your worth you really don’t have anything to prove just make them see what they been missing.
INVEST…INVEST…INVEST… labels & management want to see what you can do on your level before they get involved. Put the work in behind yourself until someone comes along and add fuel to the fire.
