Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisha.
Hi Lisha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The Elite Event Co started long before it ever became a business. I’ve always lived in the world of marketing and branding, and for years I worked as a promotional model and brand rep;so I was constantly at events, talking to people, bringing products to life, and seeing what truly makes an experience unforgettable. It gave me this unique insider look at what works, what doesn’t, and what genuinely makes people connect.
At the same time, I was helping businesses with their branding behind the scenes, so I understood both the strategy and the showmanship. Eventually, friends, clients, and even people I worked events with started asking me, “Can you help us plan something?” First it was small activations and parties… and then, naturally, corporate functions, fundraisers and weddings started popping up too. And I’ll be honest; once I planned my first wedding, I was hooked. There’s nothing like being part of a couple’s biggest day and helping bring their vision to life.
One event turned into another, and suddenly I realized this wasn’t just something I was good at; it was something I genuinely loved. The creativity, the energy, the people, the emotions… it all made sense. So I decided to take everything I’d learned; from branding, to representing brands on the ground, to planning those first weddings—and turn it into something of my own.
And that’s how The Elite Event Co was born: out of passion, real industry experience, and a “why not me?” attitude. It grew naturally, because it combined everything I love into one place; marketing, creativity, and creating moments people never forget, whether it’s a brand activation, a milestone celebration, or the wedding of someone’s dreams.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any entrepreneur, I’ve faced my share of challenges;some expected, some completely out of left field. One of the biggest early obstacles was COVID. The entire events industry came to a standstill, and it forced me to rethink how I operated, how I connected with clients, and how to stay visible when events simply weren’t happening. It was a tough season, but it taught me resilience and adaptability in ways I never expected.
The event industry is also incredibly competitive. There are so many talented planners and companies out there, so standing out meant getting really clear on what makes The Elite Event Co unique; my background in marketing and branding, my experience on the ground as a promotional model, and my focus on creating events that are truly experiential. Finding my lane wasn’t always easy, but it pushed me to refine my style and voice.
Support was another challenge. In the beginning, you’re wearing every hat and cheering yourself on. Not everyone understands your vision, and that can feel isolating at times. But it made me stronger and helped me build a support system that truly believes in what I’m creating.
Then there are the growth pains; learning how to scale, when to say yes, when to say no, and how to balance the business side with the creative side. Growth sounds glamorous, but it comes with a lot of trial and error.
And of course, one obstacle every event business deals with is inconsistent booking trends. There are busy seasons, slow seasons, and unpredictable waves that can make planning difficult. Instead of stressing over it, I’ve learned to use those quiet moments to improve processes, refine ideas, and level up.
Every obstacle taught me something valuable and pushed me to grow. Those challenges are a big part of why The Elite Event Co is as strong and intentional as it is today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As you know I plan events of all sorts no matter how big or small the projected is I feel that my organizational skills set me apart from the others. I plan every single detail of each event that most people won’t think of; that’s what makes the event a truly magical experience.
I also feel that I have a creative look on things which helps being my clients vision to life. My past careers have to take credit as I have had a lot of mentors and experience in branding and marketing behind the scenes. This is my weddings are one of my favorite events to plan and what i’m most proud of as I can make people’s dreams come true on their special day.
How do you think about luck?
I definitely believe luck has played a role, but not in the “things just fell into my lap” kind of way. For me, luck has shown up as being in the right place at the right time and being prepared for those moments. My background in marketing, branding, and promotional modeling put me in front of so many people and opportunities. Some of the clients and connections that helped build The Elite Event Co came from chance encounters, conversations, or moments I didn’t expect.
But I also believe luck only matters if you’re ready to act on it. Every “lucky break” I’ve had turned into something meaningful because I followed through, delivered, and showed up consistently. Luck opened the door, but hard work walked me inside.
So yes, I’ve had lucky moments—but the real magic came from being prepared, staying open to new opportunities, and trusting that when something aligned, it was for a reason. Luck might give you a spark, but you still have to build the fire.
