Inspiring Conversations with Klara Zatloukalova of Breathing with Klara

Today we’d like to introduce you to Klara Zatloukalova.

Hi Klara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in the Czech Republic and emigrated to the United States in 1998. My own healing journey began through personal trauma, which eventually led me to discover Holotropic Breathwork in 2017—and to meet James Frazier, who became my teacher and mentor. Through him, I was introduced to the rich world of Jungian psychology and the profound writings of Robert Moore, Marie-Louise von Franz, Robert Johnson, James Hollis, and others.
Holotropic Breathwork became a sacred tool of healing and self-exploration—one that changed my life so deeply that I enrolled in James Frazier’s Neo-Shamanic Breathwork and Jungian Coaching Training Program. Now in my fifth year of practice, I continue to offer transformational workshops and coaching in the southeastern Ohio area and Illinois, weaving together depth psychology, archetypal wisdom, and breath as pathways to wholeness.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been easy?
Not at all—it’s been a slow unfolding. We live in a society that is wired for quick fixes and instant relief, always searching for the magical pill that will make everything better overnight. What I offer is the opposite of that. My work asks people to slow down, to look inward, to face the parts of themselves they’ve spent years avoiding—their shadow, their fear, their grief.
That’s not always appealing at first glance. But for those who choose to walk this path, the reward is something far deeper and more lasting than any temporary comfort: a genuine transformation of the soul. Watching people reclaim their wholeness and remember who they truly are—that makes the slow start worth every step.

We’ve been impressed with Breathing with Klara, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I founded Breathing with Klara to offer a space where people can reconnect with their wholeness through Neo-Shamanic Breathwork and Jungian Coaching. My work bridges breath, body, and psyche—helping individuals move beyond the surface of their struggles into the deeper terrain of healing and meaning.
I specialize in guiding people to meet the parts of themselves they’ve been avoiding—their shadow, fear, and unexpressed emotion—and to discover the wisdom that waits beneath them. It’s not an easy path; it asks for presence, courage, and honesty. But what emerges is a transformation that feels real—grounded, embodied, and lasting.
My approach integrates Holotropic Breathwork, originally developed by Dr. Stanislav Grof, with Jungian principles of transformation. Through my teacher and mentor James Frazier, I learned to bring this lineage into a modern, heart-centered practice. This work doesn’t promise quick fixes or escape—it invites true awakening through conscious breath and inner dialogue.
I’m proud that Breathing with Klara has become known for its soulful, grounded, and psychologically integrated approach. My invitation is simple: when we dare to breathe deeply and face ourselves with compassion, we awaken the quiet intelligence of the soul—and remember who we truly are.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
When we meet our shadow with love, the soul begins to breathe again.
