Hi Malcolm, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Malcolm Marshall, creatively known as Malccs, is a producer, mix engineer and creative director based in Columbus, OH. Drawing from over 15 years experience, he bridges music, storytelling and strategy to build authentic, resonant sounds that stand the test of time.
As Co-Founder of PLN A, a creative house and boutique publishing company, Malccs has cultivated space for collaboration between creatives and businesses – empowering others to turn ideas into intentional art and action. His work blends elements of fashion, faith and every day life into production that feels both cinematic and deeply personal.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been smooth but mostly clear. Some of the struggles along the way include seeking balance between creative pursuits and family time, navigating the ever-changing landscape of the entertainment industry and much more.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Creatively known as Malccs, I’m a producer, mix engineer and creative director based in Columbus, OH.
I find myself drawing inspiration from fashion, nature, personal experiences, creating music that embodies the many intricate rhythms of life. Right now, I’m most proud of my ability to capture the moments that mean most to me and my loved ones and share those through the many creative mediums they operate in. What sets me apart is what equally sets everyone apart – we’re our own individuals and no one’s lived the same life.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’m most often an optimist so while I do believe in having things going your way and getting lucky, I’m even more of a believer in following your heart. In pursuit of that, you’ll find that things don’t get easier per se, but, everything works out anyway.
