Meet Jennifer Hunter of Poppin Cocktails

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Hunter.

Hi Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
started Poppin Cocktails because bartending has always been something I genuinely love. There’s just something about the energy of the bar, the music, the conversations, the creativity of mixing drinks, that’s always felt like home to me. After years of working in hospitality, I knew it was time to take that passion and build something of my own.

In 2024, I launched Poppin Cocktails with a simple goal: to bring that same vibrant, welcoming bar experience to private events. I wanted to create a service that felt polished but personal, where every drink is crafted with care, and every guest feels like they’re part of something special.

Since then, it’s grown into more than just bartending. It’s about curating moments, setting the vibe, and making sure every event feels effortless for the host and unforgettable for the guests. Whether it’s a wedding, a birthday, or a corporate celebration, Poppin Cocktails is there to elevate the experience, one pour at a time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting Poppin Cocktails has been exciting, but it’s also come with its share of challenges. I’m still in the early stages, so one of the biggest hurdles has been getting noticed in a space that’s already crowded with similar businesses. There’s a lot of noise out there, and standing out, especially without a huge budget or a long list of past events, isn’t easy.

Building the brand from scratch has taken time, patience, and a lot of trial and error. I’ve had to be super intentional with how I present myself, from the name and logo to the way I communicate with potential clients. Every detail matters when you’re trying to make a strong first impression.

It’s also been a learning curve figuring out how to reach the right audience, price my services competitively, and build trust without a long track record. But I’m committed to growing the right way, staying true to what I love, refining my process, and making sure every event I do reflects the quality and vibe I want Poppin Cocktails to be known for.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Poppin Cocktails?
Poppin Cocktails is a mobile bartending service based in Youngstown, Ohio, launched in 2024. I started the business out of a genuine love for bartending and the energy that comes with a great event. I specialize in making fresh drinks on-site for weddings, parties, and corporate gatherings, bringing a festive, professional touch to every celebration.

I operate as a dry hire, meaning clients provide the alcohol, and I supply everything else needed to make the drinks, bar tools, and setup. This approach gives clients flexibility while still delivering a high-end, personalized experience.

I’ve built a brand that reflects how I work: reliable, focused, and fully committed to every event. I take pride in showing up prepared, staying present, and making sure every detail is handled with care. That level of dedication is what sets me apart.

Brand-wise, I’m proud of how bold and clean Poppin Cocktails looks and feels. The name pops, the logo is vibrant, and the overall presentation reflects the energy and professionalism I bring to each event.

What I want readers to know is that Poppin Cocktails isn’t just about bartending, it’s about creating moments. Whether you’re planning a big celebration or an intimate gathering, I’m here to help you elevate the experience and make it unforgettable.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Honestly, this journey has been entirely self-driven. I haven’t had mentors, teammates, or outside support, I’ve built Poppin Cocktails on my own, from the ground up. Every decision, every design, every event setup has come from me.

It hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve stayed focused, worked hard, and kept showing up. I’ve taught myself what I didn’t know, adapted when things didn’t go as planned, and kept pushing forward even when it felt overwhelming. That independence is something I’m proud of its, shaped the way I run my business and the kind of experience I deliver to clients.
