Today we’d like to introduce you to Loreal Holt.
Hi Loreal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a self taught photographer who never thought in a million years I would become a photographer and a successful one at that. My story originally began when I purchased a camera just to do fun videos with my family to post on YouTube, until one day I decided to learn how to work the full camera to save money on school and athletic pictures of my son. I would later pass those pictures on to family members and show them off to coworkers at my previous employer as well as post to social media. From there more and more people started to become interested in my work. This would be the start of what is now Photos By Loreal Diane LLC.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My obstacles would be continuing to stay relevant in such a growing field where trends change constantly and there is an influx of photographers.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Im a generalist photographer and videographer. I photographer everyday people and occasions. My work consists mainly of portrait photography, family, maternity, infants, children, business branding, weddings and events. I also love doing self portraiture to inspire clients to think outside of the box as well as encouraging women to do photo shoots to promote self love and care.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Just go for it! Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and don’t be afraid to ask for help. There will always be something new to learn so don’t wait until everything is perfect to put yourself out there.
