We recently had the chance to connect with Shannon Kane and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shannon, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Good question!! My day usually starts with a walk for my dog. I like starting my day outside for a few minutes. Typically followed by coffee of course. Then I dive into my Bible,
Starting my morning in God’s Word changes everything. Before the stress and noise of the day begins, Scripture reminds me of His peace, His promises, and His presence. When I give God the first moments of my day, I’m choosing to let Him guide our thoughts, our words, and our steps.
After my devotions, I like to make breakfast and plan out my day. Planning my day helps me to stay focused and on task.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Shannon, owner of Rose & Co. Studio! I have been a hairstylist for about 9 years now. I opened my studio salon 3.5 years ago and it was the best decision I’ve ever made!
Being able to create a safe and comfortable space for my clients has always been a major priority for me. I wanted me clients to feel catered to, seen and cared for.
Rose & Co. Studio is a space to feel relaxed and safe. Whether you need silent time, a quick chat or a deep conversation- I’m here for you! I love being able to pamper my
clients and help them to feel their best!
I am a color specialist – I love creating art through the medium of hair! From placing highlights to formulating color, each aspect of the process is so special. I have the ability to completely customize each client’s hair, making their look suitable to their individual needs!
I am forever grateful for the trust my clients place with me. The relationships we build behind the chair are so special to me. I will cherish them forever. I’ve always said, it’s more than just hair. It’s the entire experience that makes every single day worth it.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My parents saw me clearly before I could see myself. They always had this confidence and sureness in me that I didn’t understand for a long time.
When I was younger, I struggled with self confidence. I wasn’t sure I had what it takes to be successful. I didn’t think I was talented enough. I’ve always been very hard on myself, sometimes having a hard time celebrating my own wins.
My parents never doubted me. They knew I was capable of achieving my dreams. They constantly pushed me to be better, to improve. They were proud of me before I was proud of me.
Seeing the confidence they had for me helped to instill that same confidence in myself. I’ve grown a lot over the years and I owe a lot of that to my support system. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by people that want to see me win as much as I want them to win.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
That I wasn’t good enough.
From as young as I can remember, I always feared not being enough. If people were going to like me, or want to be my friend. Did they think I was cool or funny? The fear that has held me back the most is the fear of not being good enough. For a long time, I felt like I had to prove myself constantly, which sometimes made me second-guess my abilities or hesitate to take risks
Over time, I’ve learned to shift my perspective—reminding myself that growth comes from stepping into uncomfortable places and that mistakes are part of the process. Now, instead of letting that fear stop me, I use it as motivation to keep learning, improving, and showing up with confidence.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is respect. No matter the situation, I believe every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued.
In a work or community setting, respect creates trust, safety, and collaboration. When respect is protected, it allows people to bring their best selves forward and builds an environment where everyone can thrive.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I can slow down, quiet the noise around me, and just be present—in prayer, reading Scripture, or simply sitting in a calm space. Those are the moments where I can breathe deeply, reset, and remember what truly matters.
I also find a deep sense of peace when I’m by the water, listening to music. There’s something about the sound of waves mixed with a favorite song that allows me to let go of stress, feel grounded, and reconnect with myself and with God. It’s a space where I feel both restored and inspired.
