Meet Gloria Janosik of Elyria, OH

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gloria Janosik.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was inspired by a life changing event that I went through over 6 years ago to write a book. During this experince my heart was opened to wanting to help bring as much love, joy, positivity, and hope to people. I had started many books over the past years, but none were completed. Then, on December 14, 2024, I came up with the idea for Santa to have a daughter. Thanks to a very special little girl in my life, and my creatitve imagination, I was inspired to bring Santa’s Daughter, Sugar, into the world for children. I opened my own business S and S Books LLC to make my dream a reality for children of all ages. Through many hours of working on this project I think the finished product is stunning. And on May 19 2025 the first book was printed. I released the book at a few Christmas in July events I participated in Lorain County. I have some more events lined up in December to attend as well.

Sugar was a secret helper at the North Pole for many years. Her story about her and the SugarStars is being shared now, because she now wants to be friends with all children through her books. Only the first book is currently avaliable for purchase. Book two is already in the process of being made.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has most definetly not been a smooth road. Lots of persistance, determination, organization, and motivation to keep going has gotten me through this. Every dream of mine that I have ever wanted to reach, I have gottten there eventually, so I kept reaching for the stars and tackled every hurdle as it came toward me on this book journey. This is the biggest risk I have ever taken, but I think with time and meeting the right people I am on the brink of a beautiful new character for children to have in their lives.

I think the biggest challenge for me is how many people/business I have reached out to for help on this journey and I did not get a response back from them. Just completely ghosted. That has been the most frustrating part of this whole journey.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
S and S Books LLC, is a children’s book business. The books I am working on are all part of the SugarStars Series. The first book is Beyond the Stars : the untold story of Sugar. The first book is all about how Sugar, Santa’s Daughter, came to be. I am the owner and author of the business. I specialize in brining happiness through books to children of all ages. I want children to have a friend in Sugar, whenever they feel like they are alone or unhappy. All they have to do is pick up the book, and Sugar will be there to put a smile back on their faces. I want to make the world a prettier, happier, and calmer place for young readers when they pick up my book.
I am most proud of my heart. I have a large heart that has always wanted to make people smile and be a friend to them. This is my creative way of being friends with as many people as possible in our fast paced society.
There are many things that set me apart from others. But, if I had to pick just one thing it would be my old soul. I love vintage everything from 1920s to 1970s. The fashion, music, home decor, muscle cars, ect. I am only 29 years old, but I think my soul is closer to 92.

If it was not for my big heart and dedication to helping people, there would be no Sugar. The whole book has a vintage vibe too, because that is what I grew up with as a child. I watched Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Bing Crosby, ect.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I have many hobbies that make me happy, the list is extensive. But, there are two things that really bring me joy. The first is when I get to make a homecooked meal for guests. I love cooking and baking for people. It is on of my ways of saying, I love you. I love seeing the glow of happiness they get when they come to my house for a meal and we can sit and talk and enjoy each others company without the interaction of cell phones. And secondly hugs. I love getting the perfect hug it fills me up with so much happiness when done correctly.

Also, whenever I get to read Beyond the Stars to children they are mesmorized by the beauty of the book and the story that it takes them on a new adventure noone has thought of writting before me. Their faces light up with joy it is unbelievable. There is a girl who said, the book is magic I can read it in the car without getting headaches. Another child has read it every night for a bed time story since the day she got it, which was over 3 months ago. When I read it at the Christmas in July event I attended the children were loud at the event. But, the second I opened my mouth to start reading the story they all were dead quiet and listened so intently to what the story said. This book has brought me more joy than I thought possible, because I get to see children’s eyes light up with delight at the masterpiece I created.
