Hi Shonte, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Shonte Mitchell — I’m a mother of three, an ordained minister, a domestic violence survivor, and a woman who turned pain into power. I’m not a product of privilege — I’m a product of persistence. I’ve lived through what most people pray to avoid. But through faith, fire, and focus, I built an empire — not just for me, but for generations behind me.

I’m the founder of Sovereign Reign Holdings, a life coaching and business consulting brand that teaches credit repair, business formation, and marketing strategy while empowering others to rebuild from the inside out. I’m also a published author of “The One Who Got Away,” my personal story of survival, healing, and freedom. My journey didn’t begin in the spotlight — it began in silence, in strength, and in the decision to become who I was destined to be.

Over the years, I’ve built platforms for transformation. I led Teen Zone, an afterschool mentorship program for youth. I became an ordained minister through Timeless Memories, where I helped families find peace, purpose, and legacy. My calling has always been to uplift others — not from a pedestal, but from experience.

Now I’ve launched Phi Zeta Epsilon, a powerful new sorority and legacy empire rooted in love (Philos), resilience through adversity (Zophos), and action (Energeia). This isn’t just a sisterhood — it’s a movement. We empower women, uplift men, and ignite children into leaders through mentorship, service, and generational impact.

I’ve struggled. I’ve started from nothing. But once I put God first and myself next, everything changed. I became the woman I needed — and now I help others become who they’re called to be. Because we don’t just rise from ashes… we build from them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not — my road has had more detours, roadblocks, and breakdowns than I could count. I’ve been broke, broken, and battling things people couldn’t even see. I survived domestic violence, started over with nothing, and had to rebuild my confidence, my mindset, and my entire life as a mother of three.

There were moments I questioned my purpose. Times when the bills were due, the vision felt too big, and I wondered if I was truly called. I didn’t have generational wealth or a mentor holding my hand — I had to become my own example. I had to learn credit, business, leadership, and healing all while still bleeding in private.

But every struggle shaped me. Every loss made room for new growth. It wasn’t smooth — it was sacred. And I now know: pressure doesn’t break diamonds, it reveals them. Those hard seasons built the woman I am today — and gave me the fire to help others find their power, too.

At the heart of everything I do is transformation — of people, purpose, and power. I founded Sovereign Reign Holdings to help individuals reclaim control of their lives, build strong foundations, and walk boldly in their calling. We offer life coaching, credit repair, business development, and mindset work — all wrapped in truth, strategy, and faith.

I also launched Phi Zeta Epsilon (ΦΖΕ) — a first-of-its-kind legacy sorority and empire for women who are ready to lead, not follow. It’s rooted in love (Philos), light through adversity (Zophos), and action (Energeia). What sets us apart is that we’re not just a sisterhood — we’re a movement. I’ve helped women start businesses, restore their credit, get back on their feet, and rediscover their fire. What I’m most proud of is watching people light up when they realize they don’t have to settle. When they see themselves clearly for the first time. That’s the work I do — I help people see themselves, own their power, and walk into purpose fully crowned.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Yes — and I’ll be real: when I started, I didn’t have access to powerful rooms or high-level mentors. I had to become the woman I needed. That’s the first piece of advice I give anyone: become your own first mentor. Learn yourself. Hold yourself accountable. Get in the habit of pouring into your own growth. Then, when you do connect with mentors, you’ll already have clarity and confidence.

When it comes to networking, I don’t chase connections — I build alignment. The most powerful relationships in my life have come from being authentic, walking boldly in my calling, and showing up with value, not just a hand out. Whether it’s online or in-person, I lead with purpose — not pitch.

What’s worked best for me is being visible and valuable at the same time. I share what I do. I serve others without expectation. I stay consistent in my mission. The right mentors, clients, and collaborators will recognize your light when it’s real.
