Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Walters.
Brittany , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I originally started as a member when Burn Boot Camp Centerville first opened. I quickly fell in love with everything about it. Before Burn, I had never stuck to a fitness routine — or truly enjoyed working out, for that matter. But this place was different. It gave me 45 minutes to focus on myself, a place I could bring my kids, and — without realizing it at first — it introduced me to an incredible community of women that would change my life.
After nearly five years as a member, I started to feel like I was meant to do more. I wanted the chance to impact lives the way mine had been — to be part of something bigger.
In November 2023, my husband and I had the opportunity to acquire Burn Boot Camp Centerville from the previous owners, who were shifting operations back to Kentucky. Honestly, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect — a total God thing.
Now, it’s my mission to pour into this community that has given me so much, and to create a space where members feel strong, seen, supported, and unstoppable.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Becoming a business owner has been a huge learning curve. I didn’t come into this with a business degree or formal leadership experience — unless you count being the boss of my household! But thankfully, my husband has a strong business background and has fully supported me (and all of my big ideas) every step of the way. I lean on his guidance often.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to lead a team effectively — not just manage a schedule, but truly support and motivate people with different personalities, work styles, and needs. Another has been the constant decision-making, big and small. There are so many things you don’t realize you’ll be responsible for until you’re in it — from budgeting to staffing to fixing a broken toilet!
Luckily, being a member first gave me a head start in building relationships with the staff and community. And honestly, my love for Burn and the purpose behind what we do keeps me going. It’s helped things fall into place more often than not.
I know this business will always be evolving, and I’m learning to adapt, grow, and trust myself more along the way. The struggles are real — but they’ve made me a better leader, and a more resilient person.
We’ve been impressed with Burn Boot Camp (Centerville), but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Burn Boot Camp Centerville is a community-focused fitness facility. We offer 45-minute strength and conditioning camps, complimentary childwatch, and one-on-one goal-setting focus meetings — all included in membership. Our focus is on empowering members through fitness, mindset, and support.
What sets us apart is the energy, connection, and accountability you feel from the moment you walk in the door. We’re not just a gym — we’re a lifestyle and a community.
We specialize in personalized group training, which means every camp is led by a certified trainer who knows your name, your goals, and how to help you grow. Members get the results of personal training, but with the encouragement of a team around them.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the consistency and impact we deliver. Whether you’re a brand-new mom or a longtime athlete, we meet you where you are — and help you become stronger in every sense of the word.
More than anything, I want readers to know that Burn is a place where you will feel seen, challenged, and supported — and it might just change your life like it did mine.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways people can work with or support us!
If you’re local, the best way is to try a camp and experience the Burn difference firsthand — we offer free trial options and love welcoming new faces into our community.
We also love partnering with local businesses, health professionals, and schools for wellness events, giveaways, pop-ups, and community outreach.
And of course, just sharing our story, following us on social media, or referring a friend who needs a place like Burn is huge. Supporting women-owned, locally operated businesses really does make a difference — and we’re grateful for every bit of it.
