Life & Work with Trishul Reddy of Columbus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trishul Reddy.

Hi Trishul, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had a deep connection to the local community. Growing up, I saw firsthand how hard local businesses worked for family-run shops, weekend food stalls, corner stores but I also saw how little attention they often received. Even the most passionate and hardworking business owners struggled to stay visible and keep up with bigger competitors.

Over the years, I realized something was missing: a platform dedicated to highlighting the local. I wanted to create a space that not only shares Columbus updates and events, but truly supports and promotes the small businesses that make this city special.

That’s how Catch Columbus was born. What started as a personal idea turned into a passion project to uplift our neighborhoods, help locals discover hidden gems, and give small businesses the spotlight they deserve.

This is just the beginning and I’m excited to grow this with the community by my side.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not exactly. It’s going well, and I’m really grateful for the support so far but honestly, finding enough time to fully run Catch Columbus has been one of the biggest challenges. Juggling this with other responsibilities means I can’t always give it the time and energy I’d like. If I had more dedicated time, I know I could take it even further.

There have been moments of doubt, a few delays, and a learning curve when it comes to creating consistent content and reaching the right audience. The mission is bigger than the obstacles, and that’s what keeps me moving forward.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
By day, I’m a DevOps engineer. it’s my work I take pride in. But outside of my profession, I’m just as passionate about supporting the local community. What sets me apart is how deeply I care about small businesses and the effort I put into creating something meaningful for them through Catch Columbus. It’s more than just a side project for me it’s a mission and long way to go.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that there’s a lot more work involved than I initially expected. Staying consistent with my passion takes real effort, and I’ve come to realize how important it is to keep learning about the process, the community, and how to make a real impact. It’s a journey of growth every step of the way ahead.
