Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Loochtan.
Hi Amy , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I launched Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins while my husband was in medical school. With long days and nights ahead of him and an unexpected abundance of solo time on my hands, I found myself craving a space to channel creativity, share favorite finds, and document our life’s little joys. What began as a side hobby — posting outfit ideas, beauty tips, and glimpses of our everyday — quickly grew into a lifestyle brand rooted in realness, relatability, and inspiration.
Over the years, Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins has evolved alongside our growing family and ever-changing routines, but one thing has remained constant: a love for creating beautiful, approachable content that feels like catching up with a friend over coffee.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins didn’t grow overnight — and it certainly hasn’t always been smooth sailing. In the beginning, I was figuring everything out as I went: building a website with zero tech experience, learning how to photograph and edit content, growing an audience from scratch, and navigating the ever-changing world of social media — all while working full-time.
One of the biggest challenges has been managing the ebbs and flows of growth, especially during seasons of transition. From moving cities for my husband’s career to becoming a mom and adjusting to a new rhythm of life, there were moments I questioned whether I could keep showing up — or if anyone was still listening. Imposter syndrome? Absolutely. Burnout? More than once.
But every challenge has pushed me to grow — in resilience, creativity, and confidence. And each obstacle has reminded me why I started in the first place: to create something meaningful, connect with others, and make space for both the beautiful and the messy parts of life. Recently, I’ve been thinking about a rebrand and a new fresh start.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a content creator, stylist, and now — an interior designer — behind Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins, a lifestyle brand that celebrates style, home, and the beauty of everyday life. What started as a side hobby has evolved into a full-time creative career, where I now not only share inspiration online but also work directly with clients to bring their spaces to life.
I specialize in creating approachable, elevated content across fashion, home decor, and motherhood, but over the past few years, my passion for interiors has grown into something more hands-on. I now take on interior design projects — both locally and virtually — helping clients design beautiful, functional spaces that reflect their personalities and lifestyles.
What sets me apart is the ability to blend design expertise with content creation — meaning I don’t just create beautiful rooms, I know how to tell the story behind them, style them with intention, and make every detail feel considered. Whether it’s styling a shelf for a brand partnership or reimagining a family’s living space, I bring a layered, livable aesthetic that feels personal and inspiring.
I’m proud of the brand I’ve built and the community that’s grown around it, but even more so, I’m excited about the way it’s expanding — into homes, into conversations, and into real-life spaces I get to help transform.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
What might surprise people is that I’ve never chased “perfect.” I’ve always aimed for real. I care deeply about making things beautiful, yes, but also about being honest — about the messy house days, the creative ruts, the juggle of motherhood and entrepreneurship. I think there’s a misconception sometimes that being a content creator means always having it all together — but I’m proud to share the moments where I don’t. Because to me, authenticity is everything.
At the end of the day, I hope people walk away from my brand feeling inspired, but more importantly, feeling seen. Because this journey isn’t about pretending it’s easy — it’s about showing up anyway and making it meaningful.
