Rising Stars: Meet Deysi Sanchez of Norwalk

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deysi Sanchez.

Hi Deysi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Deysi Sanchez. I’m 33 years old and proudly based in Norwalk, Ohio.

Five years ago, I found myself at a turning point—I wanted to do something meaningful with my life. I decided to start by learning how to do my own makeup. What began as a personal journey quickly turned into a passion. But the truth is, the spark had always been there. Ever since I was young, I dreamed of becoming a cosmetologist. I was fascinated by beauty, transformation, and the confidence it could inspire.

As I practiced and grew more confident in my skills, friends and family started to notice. They asked for tips, makeovers, and eventually, clients began to follow. That’s when I knew this was more than a hobby—it was my calling. I turned my love for makeup and beauty into a business, and I haven’t looked back since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Pursuing a career in makeup artistry hasn’t been easy for me. As a mother, I’ve faced many obstacles along the way. Juggling parenting responsibilities while trying to chase my passion meant making sacrifices, especially when I couldn’t find a babysitter or had to bring my kids along to classes or appointments. There were many frustrating moments—times when the makeup just wouldn’t turn out how I wanted, or when I doubted myself and my progress.

Learning this craft has been a journey full of highs and lows. It’s taken late nights, lots of practice, and learning to be patient with myself. I’m still growing, still learning, and still perfecting my skills. Despite the challenges, I’ve never given up. My love for makeup and the desire to create beauty—even through the chaos—keeps pushing me forward. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited for how much further I can go.

I’m a makeup artist with a strong passion for enhancing natural beauty through clean, flawless makeup looks. Over the years, I’ve specialized in creating customized glam for all occasions, with a focus on bridal and quinceañera makeup. A year ago, I expanded my skill set by diving into hairstyling—specifically updos—and have been dedicated to perfecting styles that elevate my clients’ special moments. From elegant bridal buns to intricate quinceañera styles, I offer a full glam experience tailored to each client’s vision.

What matters most to me as a hair and makeup artist is helping people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. I love enhancing natural features while bringing out each client’s unique style. It’s not just about the glam—it’s about the connection, the transformation, and the joy that comes from making someone feel like the best version of themselves
