Today we’d like to introduce you to Eszter Gozon.
Hi Eszter, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our journey began in 2007 when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Before I fully recovered, Troy got a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. For three years, we both were caregiver and care recipient as conventional allopathic medicine saved our lives with miraculous drugs, surgeries, radiation and other aggressive treatments.
Though we were “recovered”, we received little information about how to get past lingering side effects. In desperation, we turned to complementary and alternative systems. We discovered acupuncture, yoga, massage therapy, and other holistic modalities that gave us the missing pieces of our healing puzzle and got us feeling better than before we were sick.
We restored balance by incorporating lifestyle and nutrition changes based on systems like Yoga, Ayurveda and Naturopathy. In 2015 I left my corporate job as an Engineer and went to school for Western Massage Therapy. Troy and I both got our Yoga Teacher certifications that year, then we went straight into longer programs to become Ayurvedic Practitioners. In 2022, we both graduated with a Master of Science in Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine from Maharishi International University.
Pranamyra was founded in 2016 based on the modalities that we incorporated. We got so much benefit, we felt compelled to share this knowledge with others. “Prana” is a Sanskrit word meaning breath, life force, vitality. The M, Y, R and A stand for Massage, Yoga, Reiki and Ayurveda. At first, we only offered massage therapy and yoga, but soon there were workshops and classes, plus natural products like herbal oils and balms. We both love to learn, so continuing education became our addiction, and we expanded our knowledge of hands-on modalities, herbs, energy work, and more.
As demand for our offerings grew, we knew it was time to expand our team and our physical space. Today we are an Integrative Wellness Center in Dublin, Ohio. We have several Licensed Massage Therapists, traditional Yoga Instructors, and support personnel who keep the virtual and physical activities running smoothly. Our offerings include massage therapy, yoga classes, educational workshops, individual lifestyle consultations, and healthy lifestyle products.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I believe that nothing that is “worth it” is easy. Running a small business is BIG work! In the beginning, Troy was helping with everything from scrubbing toilets to researching legal matters. As we have grown, the helpers have come. We are all finding our strengths and capabilities, with everyone contributing to the success of the business. There are still growing pains, but I feel that just indicates we are still growing. As a strong team with wonderfully supportive clients, we are navigating the challenges and moving forward.
Finding the right people is the most critical thing. That is what really makes up Pranamyra – a group of like-minded individuals who share a passion to serve. It would be wrong to leave out our clients. They have supported our growth by spreading the word, connecting us with needed resources, and encouraging us to branch out with more offerings. They also share a passion for holistic health.
Having a good physical space is the second hardest challenge. As the team grew and our clients came from farther away, we knew we had to move to a larger and more accessible space. We are still making daily improvements, but we already get great joy when people tell us that they feel better as soon as they walk through the door. Our center incorporates the concepts of Vastu (a Vedic approach to space arrangement), beautiful gifts and photos from friends and clients, and live plants soaking in natural light.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Pranamyra?
As an Integrative Wellness Center, our services include Ayurvedic lifestyle and nutrition consultation, customized massage therapy, traditional Yoga classes, educational workshops on various health topics, and a selection of healthy lifestyle products like Ayurvedic oils, balms and supplements.
We are primarily known for medical massage and Ayurveda. The majority of our clients see us for pain and dysfunction. Our Licensed Massage Therapists are trained in a variety of modalities, including Neuromuscular Therapy, Acupressure, Cupping, Posture Analysis, Scar Release, Reflexology, Gua Sha, Lymphatic Drainage, Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy, and specialty Ayurvedic treatments like Garshana, Swedana, Marma Chikitsa and Shirodhara.
Our team is highly trained and holistically minded. We believe that true health can only be achieved when body, mind and spirit are all in balance; therefore, we take a holistic approach when working with clients. Our massages are not standardized; instead, we customize each session based on individual needs, goals and limitations. We also offer an environment that is not rushed, allowing for time to ask questions and discuss concerns.
Our reputation is our greatest asset. We want everyone to feel welcomed and supported when they visit or consult with us. We honor individual needs and offer suggestions for outside resources when our services are not enough to address concerns. If there is opportunity to educate on things like stretching or other lifestyle modification, we provide that. We focus on serving and making genuine connections rather than increasing the volume of people we see daily.
We don’t do it all, but we offer a lot of hands-on modalities. In our medical massages, we often blend Western techniques like those in Neuromuscular Therapy with Eastern systems like Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. We work with lots of holistic and allopathic collaborators, some on-site and others by referral. We recognize that no single system has all the answers, but they all have something to offer; therefore, we take the approach of combining what we can and inviting people to explore modalities that they may not have heard of. Our extended “team” includes chiropractors, acupuncturists, somatic experiencing therapists, dietitians, physical therapists, trauma-focused counselors, physicians, dentists, and many more.
Our office is open almost all days of the week and for extended hours, but all services and classes are by appointment only. No walk-ins, please.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We love to connect with our clients, students and visitors. Find us virtually on Facebook/Instagram, by visiting our website (we have blogs!), and signing up for our email newsletter. Consider seeing us in person by scheduling a session, or by attending a class, workshop, or one of the Open House events we have a couple times each year.
