Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Vega.

Hi Sandra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a stay at home mom, while that in itself is such a privilege, you can go kind of stir crazy of the same routine every day. Now that my son is a little over two years old, I felt like it was time to find a side hustle that I could do without sacrificing too much time away from him. My thirties were creeping up on me, I really wanted to go into my new decade with something of my own that I could be proud of. I began brainstorming what I could do, I really wanted to find something I would personally enjoy doing and could learn quickly. Anyone that knows me, knows that I love all things beauty. I’m a true girly girl to my core. I thought about all the things in my beauty routine like skincare, make up, hair done, nails done, lashes done, spray tans/self tanner. Thats when the idea of learning how to provide spray tans popped into my head and then I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I did the usual TikTok and Instagram searching and found that there’s an entire community of women all around the country with different backgrounds that have spray tanning businesses. What’s cool about it is that I found that the start up costs are very low and you can provide Mobile services to begin before commiting to studio spaces. I did all the research on how I could start and then finally in early 2025 I took the leap and decided to launch Miel, where I offer Mobile Spray tans to the local Cleveland area. I chose the name Miel because it is the Spanish word for honey. I wanted to name my business after something that represented the beauty and feeling behind getting that perfect golden spray tan. My whole thing is, I want you to look and feel as good as honey.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Since I am a new business, I’m kind of just learning along the way. Luckily, my fiance has a lot of knowledge in business and has helped me tremendously. I would say my biggest challenge at the moment is keeping a busier schedule. I just keep telling myself I’m new and I’ll get there!

Miel is a mobile spray tanning service in the local Cleveland area. You can easily book on my website www.looklikemiel.com where you can pick a time and date for me to come to the comfort of your own home. I also have a contact page on my website if you wanted to chat or have any questions before commiting to an appointment. The typical spray tan session takes less than 20 minutes and I talk you through the entire process. What’s great about being a mobile business is that you do not have to awkwardly get dressed and drive away, just hop into your favorite robe or comfy big T-shirt and let your spray tan develop while you relax in your home. All spray tan offerings are totally customizable, whether you want just a natural sun kissed bronze or a deep tan, it is all achievable. I also offer group sessions, so grab your besties and let me join your girls night in! I am extremely flexible, if you ever have a spray tan emergency never hesitate to reach out, even if its early or late in the day. What were you like growing up?
Growing up I wanted to be a star. I took modeling and acting classes when I was in middle school, and some more acting classes in my 20s. As a child, I did the usual performing Infront of your parents thing. My dad loves to talk about how I used to dress up and sing and dance to ABBA songs. My life revolved around my Bratz dolls and watching Disney channel. My parents were very protective so I was okay with that until I was a teen of course. I was never interested in sports or after school activities which explains why I love staying home now and watching reality tv.
