Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Marie Roberto.

Tina Marie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Tina Marie Roberto I am the owner, founder and stylist of TMR Salon.

20 years in the beauty industry I specialize in bridal, editorial and production hair styling. My greatest passion is my love for behind the chair styling and the growth of other artists. I love mentoring other stylists with their career.

I have traveled the globe teaching classes with global haircare brand Moroccanoil, mentoring up and coming stylists, working New York Fashion week, and tending to big names like Kendrick Lamar, Jewel, Laura Marano, and Georgina Chapman.
I couldn’t believe all of my dreams were coming true.

However, when the pandemic hit, traveling and hair shows were limited. I rediscovered my love for being behind the chair. I knew from that moment forward Cincinnati needed a salon that would make the people feel like a celebrity.

I had to stop traveling and there was no in person education during Covid, only virtual. Of course I taught virtually, but I didn’t love not feeling the energy from a live audience. My passion is inspiring other artists to grow and become their best self through elevating the technical skill sets behind the chair and training the importance of elevated experience.

In July of 2024 I celebrated the grand opening of my namesake salon.
TMR Salon, a luxury salon experience that delivers craft luxury hair and beauty services. Our team strives to make clients feel like they’re on vacation and it’s European inspired decor makes it feel like a true getaway.

Everyone who enters can expect a luxury salon experience with services ranging from custom coloring and cuts to relaxation, scalp massages, and voluminous red carpet finishes.

I worked with 3CDC, Linked Solutions INC and ARCX studio on the design and buildout of the space. The 2,300-square-foot beautiful salon features custom craftsmanship throughout with 9 foot archways black-and-white tiling a 9 foot antique wall mirror and panda quartz waterfall countertops to give it a true European look and feel.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
So many challenges and failures along my journey from the beginning of my career. I think it’s totally natural to have self-doubt and insecurities, but you have to push and fight through. It was frightening to be 15 years into my career, I was a new mom and oh hello pandemic. Yikes! I didn’t know what I was doing. My best advice is not to ignore that inner voice that lives from within. I had so much fear starting a business. You can’t let anything stop you. Not even the world shutting down. Don’t let anyone dim your light.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for my editorial and behind the chair styling. I have built an incredible apprenticeship program for Junior Artists. I am proud that I am creating a strong foundation to young artist to have a fulfilling career.
I feel so grateful and blessed to say I have built an impressive global platform professionally. My clients consist of people in the entertainment industry and professionals who travel just to get their hair done.
It’s a honor to be a part of the downtown Cincinnati community.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Since the early age of four I was styling hair. In middle and high school I was doing makeup or giving consultations on their looks. I’ve always had a strong opinion on aesthetic.
I would always make my siblings and cousins model. I would get everybody all dolled up and I would photograph using a disposable camera. I have always been a stylist, making people look and feel their best comes so natural to me. I love fashion and I’m obsessed with learning design.
