Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Altman.

Megan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Art has always been a passion of mine. Initially, I pursued a path in graphic design, but after a few classes, I realized it wasn’t the right fit for me. In 2014, I took a bold step and enrolled at the Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles, California. Although homesickness led me to return to Ohio, I discovered my ability to create beauty and joy as a bridal and event makeup artist. After earning my Esthetician License from National Beauty College in 2017, I began to offer makeup, lash extensions, and facial services independently. Around that time, I also got married and embarked on the journey of growing my family. When I found out I was expecting my fourth child, I chose to step back from working at the salon to fully embrace my first passion: makeup.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges I faced when starting out was the decision to go out on my own without any clientele. After graduating from esthetics school, I found myself in a toxic salon environment that left me feeling unfulfilled. Realizing I wanted to embrace my passion on my own terms, I took a leap of faith with the unwavering support of my husband, parents, and mentor, Carrie Manser. Though starting without a client base was daunting, it only fueled my determination. This journey taught me that significant breakthroughs often come from the courage to step into the unknown. When you believe in yourself and stay true to your passions, you can create the future you desire.

As a Bridal and Event makeup artist, I am deeply passionate about creating soft and natural glam looks that enhance each individual’s unique beauty. My journey in this industry has been nothing short of fulfilling, as I’ve been able to turn my love for makeup into a thriving career.

What truly sets me apart is not just my artistry, but my commitment to empowering others. I believe that makeup is not just about aesthetics; it’s about instilling confidence and celebrating the beauty that already exists within each person. My mission is to help everyone I work with feel radiant and self-assured on their special day, reminding them that they are truly beautiful just as they are. By tailoring each look to reflect their individuality, I strive to make every experience transformative and inspiring.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Stay true to yourself and have unwavering belief in your abilities; with determination, you can achieve incredible things.
