Daily Inspiration: Meet Brittany Ungermann

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Ungermann.

Hi Brittany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For as long as I can remember, by dad would express his love to me with the simple phrase… “I love you BUNCHES,”…followed by the best hug. At Bunches Floral Collective, we believe that you are loved BUNCHES by the greatest Creator, and flowers are a way we can share the truth of the value of your worth. there’s something about them that speaks where words simply fail.

Flowers have the power to create joy, spark creativity, and bring people together. They have always meant something personally special—a source of beauty, comfort, and inspiration. What started as a personal passion has grown into a dream come true: sharing the love of flowers and the art of design with others! In everything, helping make flowers more accessible for everyone and supporting them with the resources and means to be able to make whatever their floral vision is, into a reality.

At 9 years old, I wanted to bring home Gerbera Daisy plants to grow to be able to cut them and put into vases. In 2020, I spent a year living and working in Nashville, TN at “Amelia’s Flower Truck”, a unique build-your-own-bouquet experience out of the back of a vintage VW transport truck. My dreams to make ways for flowers and design that accentuates their beauty for everyone to enjoy were truly realized. Yet, it wasn’t the right time to necessarily step into my own business venture of this sort.

Over the past 5 years, I’ve been holding onto that dream in the back of my heart until now! Faced at a crossroads for work and career, it felt like it was time to take the leap into making these dreams for myself a reality. And regardless of what a typical career would look like, being able to explore creativity and network down this avenue is an amazing opportunity.

Bunches Floral Collective offers a little bit of everything—from curated arrangements to hands-on experiences that bring people together. Hosting a Workshop truly transports us into a part of Martha Stewart’s dinner party world, while also sharing the gift of Floral Design with others. Whether it’s designing a stunning centerpiece, crafting a whimsical flower crown, or making a seasonal wreath, our workshops are designed to inspire creativity, connection, and fun. Our Bloom Bar Pop-Ups invite you to build your own bouquet—mixing, matching, and creating floral magic your way. Not to mention to beauty of collaboration with other local businesses that simply warms my heart.

Something incredibly exciting for us is that in March of 2025, we have added a 1974 Ford Bronco to our family as a “Blooming Bronco” flower truck. During warm weather months, we will park around town and sell flowers (both locally and personally grown) in a build your own bouquet experience. We’ve lovingly named our Flower Truck, Sunny, after her bright and sunshiny yellow paint job.

At the heart of Bunches Floral Co. is a passion for making flowers approachable, joyful, and unforgettable, while extending love to those whom they were created for. Whether you’re celebrating a special moment or simply enjoying the beauty of the moment, we’re here to make your floral dreams a reality—one bunch at a time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This venture has certainly been one of taking steps of faith, day by day. From reaching out to other businesses in a blind, “cold-call” kind of way (which is beyond my comfort zone), to ordering and estimating flower needs for a pop-up, to even creating estimates and the designs themselves, there are numerous ways for me to make decisions that could be the difference between growing or backtracking. Yet with each step, I feel a sense of growth in a dimension of aspects.

Sunny, the flower truck herself, has a whole bucket of needs that contribute to some bumps in the road- literally and figuratively. While her body is in amazing condition, the last owners made some modifications on her that have left me and my pit crew scratching our heads….for instance, the ignition switch was moved underneath the dash and valve caps were left unplugged. Yet, even in that, there has been a beautiful provision in amazing and knowledgable friends and family who are such blessings to volunteer their time, energy and resources to help us restore and upkeep her. I’ve also been so grateful for the incredible resources that are available online to aid in the growth of knowledge and understanding for my own gain in this mechanical world I had often left for others more “qualified”

I have questioned the risk of investing so much time, energy and finances into such a venture. There’s still so much uncertainty ahead, along with excitement. And I am so grateful for the amazing support in so many ways of incredible people- friends and strangers alike- who encourage me along the way. The journey would not be as satisfying to take had the bumps in the road not been a part of it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I believe we are best be known for our “Blooming Bronco” that will be around town. This year, 2025, will be the first year she’s out and about. That in itself is a dream car, so combining that along with my passion for flowers- which happens to be a combination so many other people express an affinity to, feels so unique. Sunny’s bright and welcoming yellow color along with her preserved age really draws attention and makes a statement as well. I’m grateful and proud of pursuing a dream, regardless if I felt crazy at times to do so.

As someone who is not only a florist, but a passionate gardener, relationship builder and multi-passionate cultivator, our flowers are intentionally sourced in a variety of ways- from a local wholesaler, grown at our own home garden, and even from our friends at local flower farms. We get to collaborate with other local businesses- coffee shops, markets, boutiques, etc. which is another amazing and fun aspect of what we do. It makes me to proud to be a part of a city and community where people are so supportive of other small businesses and creatives, and are so willing to help, shop small and share the word.

Essentially, we have a heart to help make any flower dream come true for anyone! Because we don’t have a storefront location, we feel this allows for so much more flexibility and opportunity for us to create alongside whatever your vision including flowers may be. Whether it be an installation for a corporate event or brand launch, a full service wedding; hosting workshops for increased skills or to help you DIY your own bouquets, or maybe it’s something as simple as sharing a message beyond words through a personalized/built bouquet from our flower truck. If you want flowers, we specialize in flowers. The rest we can figure out and trust it falls into place.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
A podcast that has helped educate and inspire me is “Coffee Wine & Flowers” a podcast by Sarah Wahhab. Pinterest is a huge source of inspiration for me. I love continuing to follow and be inspired by my friends still in Nashville, at Amelia’s Flower Truck. My friends at my local flower wholesaler, DWF, are amazing resources and supports as well. Mulberry and Moss has a great source of education and information for people wanting to grow in their floral design and their floral business plans.

My faith is also a huge factor of who I am and what inspires me to do what I do. So trusting that God has good plans for me an has placed dreams and desires in my heart for a reason, is super important. I take every person and opportunity He has brought my way as an incredible blessing and provision from Him. My family and friends who are incredible in so many ways, help me do my best simply as a result of their support.
