Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Eads
Hi Alicia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Alicia. Creator, owner and photography at Alicia Eads Photography, LLC. I’ve been photographing for more than 25 years, but started my own company after having boy-girl twins…14 years ago! I also have a 10-year-old son and a 4-year-old rescue pup, Cali.
A few fun facts about me:
• I LOVE Dunkin iced coffee.
• My favorite vacation spot is anywhere with a beach.
• I’m currently watching the “White Lotus” and reruns of “Grey’s Anatomy”
• When editing, I’m always listening to a True Crime podcast.
• My favorite dessert is a Butterfinger Blizzard from Dairy Queen.
• I taught my high school sweetheart how to drive…and we are still together 28 years later (married for 19!).
That’s me! I can’t wait to meet you all in person some day soon.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Before starting Alicia Eads Photography, LLC, I managed portrait studios in both Kentucky and Ohio. In 2010, after delivering twins prematurely, I made the decision to leave a job I loved. It was such a blessing, but also was a huge adjustment for us financially. We went from two incomes to one, while adding two people into the mix. It was tough, but I was able to care for them at home…and snap pictures of all their little moments. Plus, several friends had babies around the same time so I would photography them, too! When my twins turned two years old, I turned my love of photography into one of the best decisions I’ve ever made – Alicia Eads Photography, LLC. Before I knew it, friends of friends were asking me to take their family pictures. Eventually, people I had never met were reaching out! I was so excited (and scared), but stayed focused on growing my business. After the birth of my third baby in 2014, my business was really booming! And the best part, with the help of grandparents, I was still able to stay home with all three kids and manage a business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Most people know me for my newborn and family photography. I have a studio in my home that I am very proud. I also meet clients at nearby parks, urban areas…or even in their homes.
More recently, I’ve focused on growing my AEP (Alicia Eads Photography) Senior Rep Team. This is where high school seniors from around Greater Cincinnati are selected to participate in themed group photoshoots, special events and much more! There’s so much pressure on kids these days, so I wanted to create a safe and fun environment for them to feel comfortable, be silly and laugh. My Class of 2025 Senior Rep season is coming to an end, but I’m excited to announce that my Class of 2026 team is even bigger!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To be thankful every day for what God has given me. A thriving business, three amazing kids, the sweetest rescue dog and a huge support system led by my husband, Nick! This journey isn’t always easy. I have months where I’m extremely busy and stay up all night editing, and other months where I only have a handful of sessions. But I always stay focused on the things I can control and let go of the ones I cannot. I’m extremely grateful for the friends I have made along the way and the memories I’ve been able to give so many. This career has also taught me that family time is so important, and that work will always be there. Take the vacation, go to the games, carve out time to watch movies and go on walks. These are the things that matter most.
