Hi Jacob and Noy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hello, we are Jacob and Noy Moore. We own Moore Than Just BBQ restaurantin Mount Blanchard, Ohio. This all started when I (Jacob) was hanging out with some friends around the campfire. We talked about roasting hogs, smoking meats. Next thing I know, I received many requests to smoke meats for people. I wanted to expand my business so we purchased an approved smoker and a small trailer to travel around to different events. A couple of years later, we bought a box truck and designed the interior to make it suitable for food trucking. Our newly designed food truck and creative graphic exterior and unique barbeque menu set us apart from others. At this time, we started receiving catering calls, and from there, we purchased a brick and mortar to be able to accommodate more requests. We opened in November 2024 and currently only open for barbeque on Saturdays. My wife, Noy does all the desserts. This seems to suit us well- I smoke the meats and prepare the sides while she prepare the desserts and eggrolls. Yes, we serve eggrolls as well. My wife’s homemade eggrolls is a staple menu to our barbeque menu. This happened when we first started food trucking and it just stayed due to high demand.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When we had our small white trailer, it was hard for others to notice us. Partially because we had no exterior design, and because it was small, people would walk right passed us. It wasn’t until we stood outside giving out food samples is when we started to gain attention. We would also return to the same exact location whenever we went back just so they would remember us. Another struggle we encountered was because the trailer was small, we also couldn’t serve as many variety of foods as we wanted to.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
While the restaurant offers mainly barbeque options, we don’t limit ourselves when it comes to catering.
Our catering menu offers more food options for our clients. For example if they wanted chicken alfredo fettucine, spaghetti with meat sauce, lasagna, fried chicken wings, or anything that is not offered at the restaurant, we do our best to accommodate. We also prepare fruit trays, vegetable trays, other desserts that’s not typically offered at the restaurant.
No matter the foods that our clients pick, we strive to do our best. We even make our own barbeque seasoning and barbeque sauce. Our life is about barbeque. When we are not smoking meats for the restaurant or catering, we are thinking of new items to create. For example, we have our newly created brisket rueben. I already love our tender , juicy, delicate brisket, but I think it’s fun to give people something unique that they haven’t heard of or typically see. I don’t see us stopping anytime soon with menu creations. We are both foodie people so this is a lot of fun for us.
A lot of people tell me they really love my pulled pork or brisket. But then I hear from others that they like the baby back ribs or smoked chicken. So it depends on who you ask.
I think with my unique flavor in barbeque, preparing many of our own sides, own desserts, and offering a wider menu selection with our catering services sets us apart from others.
I would like our readers to know that we care about our foods and our customers. Their special day is as important to them as preparing every dish is important to us. When they are happy, we are happy.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
A fun fact that that most people don’t know about us is the name of the restaurant. The Moore in Moore Than Just BBQ is our last name. It’s not a typo. And because we offer more than just barbeque options, the name was born. I will give credit to my brother Seth for the name.
We are a Christian business that promotes the kingdom through food and prayer. This means that if you are hungry and don’t have the means, we will feed you and pray for you.
