Hi Sheena, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 10 years. When I started my journey I didn’t know much about the beauty industry, or where I saw myself going. I started doing nails in 2013, and work various roles in the operations in the front and back of the salon. Over the years I have really grown to love the beauty world but wanted something more.
My love for making other people feel and look amazing, lifting people up to their full potential, grew more and more. Today I am a proud Co-owner of The Paint Shop Nail Studio where I am given the ability to make people feel like their best selves, while providing a unique, modern, and in style setting for my clientele.
My mom, and co-owner, Jenny has also been in the nail industry for over 10 years. Together we wanted to create something different. The nail industry is often focused on trends and speed, but we saw a need for a space that celebrates natural beauty and wellness, while still being vibrant and fun.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building The Paint Shop Nail Studio was a journey filled with challenges, from carving out a unique niche in a competitive industry, to navigating the logistics of running a business. Staying true to our vision of natural beauty and wellness required extensive research, finding the right products, and assembling a passionate, skilled team. We also faced the steep learning curve of entrepreneurship, from permits to budgeting, all while fostering strong connections within the Old Hilliard community. Through it all, our commitment to providing clean, creative, and fun experiences kept us grounded and motivated. Each challenge became an opportunity to grow, and today, The Paint Shop stands as a testament to resilience, passion, and purpose.

Growing up, I had the unique experience of traveling abroad with my family, where I was exposed to a world of fashion and creativity that was different from what I saw at home. I loved when we visited, I could get tailor-made outfits, reflecting the local culture and trends. It was about more than just clothes; it was about creating something uniquely my own, something that felt personal and special. Those travels taught me the power of individuality and how creativity can break boundaries. It’s that same inspiration that drives The Paint Shop—a place where creativity thrives, trends are embraced, and every detail is tailored to make each client feel uniquely celebrated.
