Meet Bailey Nahrup of BDN Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Nahrup

Hi Bailey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
BDN Boutique began in 2019 as BDN Jewelry when I started making jewelry for friends in high school as a hobby to earn some extra cash. Like many, when COVID hit, I found myself looking for new ways to stay busy. That’s when I decided to elevate BDN into something more. In my junior year of high school, I began using my Cricut to make custom clothing for my friends attending various colleges, which ignited my passion for designing and creating. This marked the beginning of my journey into rebranding BDN.

By 2021, I felt a deeper calling to expand, and that’s when BDN Jewelry officially transformed into BDN Boutique. I continued making Cricut-cut clothing and jewelry, along with accessories, primarily selling to friends and family.

In 2023, I took a significant leap by attending my first market, the Country Applefest at the Warren County Fairgrounds. After that event, a fire was lit within me, and I knew this was my true calling. At just 18 years old, I invested in a DTF printer, enabling me to produce higher-quality printed clothing. I then sought out more markets, craft shows, and festivals to attend.

By 2024, BDN Boutique had expanded significantly, offering boutique clothing, purses, accessories, handmade clothing, and unique giftables. Today, BDN Boutique isn’t just a brand—it’s a reflection of who I am, and I can’t wait to continue growing it into something truly remarkable.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“If it was easy, everyone would do it.” I’ve heard that phrase countless times, and I’ve reminded myself of it even more. While owning a business at a young age and finding my passion early on may look like butterflies and rainbows from the outside, I can promise you that there have been plenty of storms I’ve had to weather along the way.

Starting out on my own meant I had to do all my own research, connect with countless local events, and push myself to get my name out there in every way possible. Being so young, I’ve faced questions and doubts from people who assumed I was just a helper. While some might see this as a stab to the chest, I’ve learned to take it as a huge compliment.

I’ve come to realize that just because the path I’m on isn’t the one everyone takes—or because a Western-chic boutique might not be the norm in Loveland, Ohio—doesn’t mean I can’t do it. It doesn’t mean I can’t shape my business into whatever I want it to be—and more.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about BDN Boutique?
BDN Boutique is a Western chic brand built around the philosophy of “Look Good, Feel Good.” We offer a wide range of clothing, accessories, jewelry, bags, giftables, and more, ensuring that everyone can find something they love. Our specialty is bright, happy, and unique pieces designed to spice up your wardrobe and help you feel your best in any situation.

As a young business owner doing it all on my own, I take great pride in offering unique, one-of-a-kind printed pieces designed and created by me. While you’ll often find us on social media or at local events, what many people may not know is that we also offer custom printing and wholesale items.

One of my absolute favorite things from the very beginning has been creating custom items for you—whether it’s for your company, your volleyball team, your livestock show, or anything in between. I’m always excited to work with you and bring your vision to life!

What matters most to you? Why?
When I’m asked, “Why do I do it? What drove me to start BDN? What’s the vision behind BDN?” there’s always one thing that comes to mind. Growing up as a livestock showman in a rural area, I wasn’t always the picture of what people might imagine a private school kid to be or act like. I love getting my hands dirty, working hard, feeling sore after a long day, and most importantly, watching my hard work pay off.

What matters to me is that when people see my business, they understand that absolutely anything is possible, no matter the circumstances. I will always put in the work to make my dreams a reality. I’m committed to shaping this business into exactly what I envision. And while I know it won’t always be easy, that’s part of why I love it.
