Meet Nicole Butler of Ohio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Butler

Hi Nicole, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I attended Brown Aveda Institute in 2015 for the Advanced Esthetics program. I graduated in 2016 and soon after graduating ended up working for a lash extensions salon that was willing to train me to do lashes. I worked there for 5 years and moved to a different full service salon where I finally decided to go out on my own. After briefly working from home I came across a brand new Salon Lofts location in Ohio City. I took that as my sign to make the big move and began the steps to open my very own salon. I was able to expand my services to include waxing, lash lifts, brow lamination, hydro facials, and dermaplaning. I am also now working on creating a lash extension training course because after 8 years I feel ready to share my knowledge and skills to others.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When I graduated from Brown Aveda I originally had a job set up at European Waxing Center but unfortunately due to a bad timing of health issues the job ended up not working out. I was extremely devastated that it didn’t work out but after having a pity party I reached out to every spa and salon within a 30 mile radius. That was how I ended up working at the lash salon. At the time of my first esthetician job falling through I felt very defeated but it ended up being the best thing to happen to me. It forced me to look elsewhere and expand my idea of what I wanted to do with my license. 8 years later and I couldn’t imagine not being a lash extensions specialist.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an Advanced Esthetician and I specialized in lash extensions. I originally became an esthetician to focus on skin but fell in love with lashes. I am extremely proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients over the years. Several of my clients have been coming to me since I started doing lashes 8 years ago. I’ve always tried to provide the best service to clients and pride myself on my techniques and expertise.
