Meet Megan Lewis of Dayton/Kettering, Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Lewis

Hi Megan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was an athlete all my life having swam for 15 years straight. I started when I was 7 years old and swam all the way through college at the University of South Carolina until I retired once graduating in 2017. After retiring, I struggled with who I was outside of swimming and what was next for me. In 2020 when Covid hit, I started writing my own workouts and leading virtual HIIT training sessions with my friends. It was during this time that I also hired my first nutrition coach to help me learn how to properly fuel my body for my goals and longterm health. It was during this time with my first nutrition coach that I realized how much I enjoyed fitness and nutrition and decided to get my personal training and sport nutrition certifications. I started my online personal training and nutrition business in June of 2020 and went full time in August 2021. It was also during this time that I realized I missed my competitive nature and found the sport of bodybuilding. In November of 2020 I started training to compete in the bikini bodybuilding division and it quickly become a new passion and love. Over the last 4 years I have been building a team full of strong and capable women working to achieve their happiest, healthiest, most confident selves. I coach competitive athletes in the bikini and wellness divisions as well as lifestyle clients.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The hardest part is the ebb and flow of owning your own business. Sometimes you will have really good months and others may be slower. This can be very hard mentally because being the sole person in charge it can feel defeating when it seems your efforts aren’t matching your results. What has helped me to work through these struggles though is remembering how far I have come and how I get to do what I love every single day. Focusing on the small victories all along the way help me to see the continued growth and progress I have had over the last 4 years. Even with the challenges I have faced, there isn’t anything else I would rather be doing. I love what I get to do everyday and persevering through the struggles and challenges helps me continually evolve, learn, and grow!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an online personal trainer and nutrition coach specializing in competitive and lifestyle coaching. I work with individuals who are interested in taking their fitness goals to the next level by competing in the sport of bodybuilding in either the bikini or wellness divisions. I also work with lifestyle clients. These are individuals who are ready to make a lifestyle changes to help them reach their health/fitness goals for the longterm. Whether you are a competitor or lifestyle client I put a huge emphasis working in alignment with your body and connecting all the pieces internally, externally, and mentally. While there are many online personal trainers and nutrition coaches out there, something that sets me apart from the rest is that I don’t just coach my clients but I teach them and I put a huge emphasis on mental health. I want to make sure that my clients have an understanding behind what they are doing and I want them to truly know the why behind their plan. I communicate and am truly here for EACH of my clients and their individual needs and goals. I prioritize mental health because I am a firm believer that if the mind isn’t feeling good and healthy, the body won’t either.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is chasing your dreams, following peace, persevering no matter what gets thrown your way, and living a life you love.
