Today we’d like to introduce you to Detroit Barbie
Hi Detroit, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got started rapping in 2019. A friend of mine heard me rapping and said I should give it a try. She hooked me up with a dj who made my first song. Since then I have been working hard, traveling state to state, networking with people from all over the world, and showcasing my talent. I knew the best way to be successful in this industry was to reach people from all over the world.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No it has not been a smooth road there are always obstacles. I recently was battling cancer and still doing shows, in the studio, and doing chemo; but I did not let that break me.
Once I hit the stage I’m good. I never let my obstacles stop me from delivering to my fans. I never give up I always keep going. I motivate myself, my team motivates me and we always figure it out and work it out.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a female rap artist. I spealize in making turn up music, real rap, and high energy performances. I am known for being a girls girl and always wanting the best for everyone. I am also known for the way I perform and connect with audiences. I am most proud of how far I have come and the many things god has in store for me. What sets me apart from others is that I am genuine, kind, passionate, and my personality. My ability to network, connect, and uplift others; while still pushing myself and those around me to be great.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck; I believe that good and bad things just happen in life we just have to work through them. When you are striving for success trials and tribulations are going to come you have to continue to work hard and know that bad doesn’t last forever and neither does the good. We all experience ups and downs but stay prayed up and work hard at everything you do.
