Today we’d like to introduce you to Wesley Wheeler

Wesley , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I borrowed a camera from my sister so I could take pictures during my honeymoon. I didn’t know much about how to work it but I really enjoyed getting to use it.
Im a car enthusiast so I decided to find a cheap camera so I can take some pictures of my own cars, and make some content about my builds I’m working on.

I started taking my camera to car meets and used them as an opportunity to learn. Everything happened so fast and I began networking and transitioning into getting paid for my time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve been teaching myself everything, I’ve had a lot of support from the car community, photographers and family who build me up and tell me how I can improve my work.
It’s hard getting established in a local community, I’m not there yet but I’ve made some friends and met some great people.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a hobbyist photographer, with hopes to one day grow to be good enough that I can make a career out of it.
I’ve been mostly doing automotive work but the few times I’ve had human subjects I’ve really enjoyed it.
I’m far from professional but I can see myself getting progressively better each time I pick up a camera.

How do you think about luck?
I would consider myself blessed, I wasn’t handed anything in life and everything I accomplish is strictly because I’ve work towards it.
Im blessed however to have an amazing, extremely supportive wife who is always pushing me to keep trying and helps me improve on myself and my work.
I also have a great family and extend family who have been supportive of my silly hobby since the start.
And I’m really blessed to have such an amazingly naturally talented sister, she’s always available for me to ask questions and bounce ideas. She’s the reason Im continuing to improve and this has been an opportunity to spend more time with her as we go out and cover meets together.
She’s my biggest inspiration and id love if I could become even half as talented as she is one day.
