Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Kolecki

Hi Joseph, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My photographic journey began during my freshman year of high school. Since that time, my interest in turning moments into captivating images has remained my favorite creative outlet. I wish I could say I have one favorite subject to photograph. Instead, I say that the world around me is my favorite subject. Taking pictures of wildlife and nature is just as interesting to me as photographing city lights at sunset, or daily life around me.

In 2004, I was introduced to portrait and wedding photography by a fellow artist. Working as a second shooter, I helped capture some of the most intimate moments of people’s lives. It was then I realized my desire to turn my passion for photography into my profession. And so began Kolecki Photography L.L.C! Throughout the years, I have had the pleasure and privilege of photographing numerous weddings, portraits, business events, and other special photoshoots for clients from all over Northeast Ohio and beyond.

I’m happy to share what I have learned throughout my photographic journey. In addition, I am always ready and eager to learn new things. I look forward to future photographic opportunities and stay ready to capture the interesting moments!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As with any business, there are always challenges along the way. The key to facing any challenge is staying positive and keeping an open mind.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am good at capturing genuine, unscripted moments as they happen.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of many of my favorite childhood memories is when my Dad and I photographed a damsel fly that had landed on the leaf of a nearby plant. I remember how intrigued I was by the detail we were able to capture, particularly in the insect’s wings. That moment has always inspired me and fueled my love for photographing nature and wildlife.
