Daily Inspiration: Meet Destiny Ellison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Ellison

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was inspired by a marvel themed restaurant in Columbus, Ohio called Super Chefs and wanted to create an anime themed restaurant.

I started of selling food out of my home kitchen with desires of opening a food truck. Once I got into cosplay the vision changed into a restaurant with desires of an opened kitchen concept so customers could see me serve them in costume.

Along my journey I met marquise Pirela who had a vision of an anime themed air bnb so we decided to join forces & mixed our concepts together with an air bnb Quise suites above our restaurant hidden leaf cafe.

We make healthy made from scratch anime inspired cuisine served in anime costumes. We love doing themed events & interacting with the community.

Our goal is to help as many people as we can eat healthier and to live a healthier lifestyle.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey hasn’t been easy, from financial struggles, family and friend issues along with a drastic change in living situations. I’ve always tried my best to stay positive and stay focused on the next task to make my situation better. I always had to find a way to make my dream come true. The best things that come from my journey is the loyal friends I’ve made & the lessons I’ve learned.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve always worked in kitchens but never fast food as I didn’t want to be apart of an environment pushing an unhealthy lifestyle. I works from fast casual, hotels, corporate to fine dinning. I’ve learned so much about the ends in outs to restaurants, hospitality and catering to prepare me for the restaurant I have now. I wanted to create an environment with amazing hospitality, healthy food of great quality but is affordable for the community. I didn’t want my place to be just another restaurant but a place where people of all cultures could feel welcomed, comfortable, accepted, uplifted & full of life.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Patience & gratitude have helped me take the time to assess all of my errors and time to correct them. I’ve become more confident and comfortable with myself & my visions over the years. I discovered all the things that made me unhappy and focused on the things that did. I realized in order to serve the community in a positive healthy manor I had to heal & deal with myself first.
