Hi Daisy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since a young girl I’ve always had this confident, strong-minded, resilient personality. Throughout my high-school and college years. I took on roles that boosted my confidence, and improved my leadership skills, which lead me to my dreams of becoming my own boss one day. During my senior year of college I started to take my entrepreneurship journey serious and began exploring many different business ventures. While exploring, I created a plan to finish my undergraduate degree first and then I would come back to my home town to pursue my dreams.

I knew that I wanted to purse something in the fashion industry because I love to look and feel good and I wanted other women to do the same. I started researching many different routes such as, hair, clothes, accessories, etc, but I couldn’t find interest in any. One random day I was sitting at home brainstorming ideas and decided to write out all the things that I loved about myself and the things that made me feel good. From there is where the idea “Leveled Shoe Bar” came from.
Anyone who knows me know I love me a good pair of heels, always kept a collection and received many compliments. As a women I just love that elevated, confident, bossy feeling you get while wearing them. At the time I thought my imaginary was way too big because I had no clue on how I was going to create a heel let alone taking it as far as a whole shoe line.

Fast forward 4 years later, I have produced over 15 different styles of heels, and a total of 7 to completely sell out. I enjoy being the designer and creator of this brand, I feel that I can really express my personality through my work. It has been such an honor seeing women confidently wearing shoes that I designed and seeing them feeling their best while wearing them. Being from Detroit there are not a lot of spaces designated strictly to women and I am happy to create that space. My plans for Leveled throughout these next couple of years is to continue to put forth my best creative work and to eventually have a full warehouse and then a brick and mortar right in the city of Downtown Detroit.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly the road has been up and down but more up than down for me. I’m sure any entrepreneur can attest that the road is not smooth at all. Within these past 4 years there has been many obstacles but most importantly, I’ve learned a lot about myself and my business. I’ve learned to take my time with my ideas and not rush through my projects. Sometimes with my passionate, strong- minded, and and resilient personality, I can have an idea and immediately want to bring it to life. When I take my time and properly plan and prepare I notice that there is always better outcome. Although there has been challenges, I have been really been enjoying this journey. For me the challenges is what allows you to grow as a person and for your your business to grow. I’ve learned to not look at challenges as a negative thing, but to look at it in a positive manner and understand that is the time to learn and improve because once you have come so far you don’t want to give up.

We’ve been impressed with Leveled Shoe Bar, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
People often ask me where did the name Leveled Shoe Bar came from and honestly it fits the brand so perfect. I ask people how do you feel when you wear heels? High, elevated, tall, confident, like you’re leveling up right?. Leveled is just different. It’s really like no other, not only do we sell heels we have branched off an added flat boots and sandals to the collection as well.

Our uniqueness and creativity is what sets this brand apart from others, I don’t know another brand that does it like Leveled. Although this route is a little more challenging, I take pride in hand picking everything down to the shape, size, color, heel style, etc. I am so proud of the overall growth of Leveled, This was such a scary journey for me at the beginning but I mean really, from the start until now is honestly crazy. The amount of hard work and dedication that has been put into keeping this brand going is indescribable.

I want to thank the people who continuously support this brand, whole-heatedly I couldn’t thank you enough. Although I have come this far working as the full time everything for this brand, I look forward to working with a creative director and creating a team to really take it to the top. I have so many big things planned and coming up for this brand; new products, new accessories, toiletries & more.
