Rising Stars: Meet Tammy Duke-feltz of NKY/Cincy area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Duke-feltz

Hi Tammy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I own an event planning and design company. I started it 15 years ago and the momentum has been going strong ever since. During my 4th year into my business, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) I decided I could feel sorry for myself, or I could use my platform to raise awareness and money for this cause. So that’s what I did, I host several large expos and events and every event a portion of the proceeds benefit The National MS Society. While I love my event planning/design business my true passion is my work as a therapist, I have over 15 years of experience in mental health and substance use counseling. Over the years I’ve gained a large following on my social media and have become a positive place for people to come to laugh and shine light on things that I am passionate about (lifestyle, family, living with a chronic illness and more.)

I have two children Ava (13) and Rylan (7) along with my Doodle Bentley and cat Milo.

I also do motivational speaking and have been writing a self-help book for the past 10 years…yes, I said 10 years. Every time I am at the point of publishing a major life event transpires. I hope to have it out next Spring.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Going back to my struggles with my MS it has definitely been lots of ups and downs in my journey. But I’ve been blessed with an amazing support system along the way. I know when to take a break and delegate when I need to. I can say confidently that my positive outlook on life and faith have gotten me through my darkest days My motto on life is that we all have three choices in life: give in, give up, or give it your all.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the proudest of my work as a therapist and being able to help so many people over the years. Close second is the work I’ve been able to do with my event planning company and raising money and awareness for a cause so dear to my heart. I’ve met so many amazing people over my journey. I think what sets me apart from others is my passionate for life and regardless my struggles I have found a way to overcome them. I am most known for my positivity and inspiring others.
