Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Lewis Jr (lilseth)
Hi Seth, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since I was young, I had a passion for content creation. Since 4th or 5th grade I made little dance videos on musical.ly before it changed to TikTok. Then, in 6th grade, I used to watch the video game NBA 2k, a lot. I had a friend who used to upload his gaming clips to YouTube. I asked him how he was uploading the clips and he showed me. So I started uploading my clips in 6th grade too. Then as time went on, in 7th grade I got banned on YouTube because I wasn’t old enough to upload to the platform. So in 9th grade towards the end of the school year, COVID happened. So I used to be bored at home and ended up making gaming videos again and uploading them daily. I wasn’t seeing no progress really but I kept going. I started making YouTube shorts about NBA 2K and saw more progress. I lost my passion for gaming because I got bored of it after COVID and felt like my life should’ve been documented since I was always active after COVID. So eventually in 10th grade, I made a new TikTok account and started making relatable funny videos where I used to just stare at the screen. One day my TikTok got like 75K views and a lot of followers, so that motivated me to keep going. Then I kept getting views and many followers so I kept doing TikTok and slowed down on YouTube. I made a few YouTube videos in 10th grade, but for my 16th birthday, I wanted to get a camera to improve quality. I got a camera and started making videos. Views went up slightly. Then, I got a little more consistent, I was stuck at 5,000 subscribers for 2 years. I kept vlogging and found ways to incorporate my personal life and make it genuinely entertaining. People in my city started noticing me in public and always asked to be in my videos. They look at me as motivation. I graduated in 2023 and then slowly improved my content. Once I got to college at The Ohio State University, I was vlogging there and made a name for myself, now I’m known as the campus YouTuber. I was vlogging my college life and promoting my channel heavily causing me to slowly progress to 23,000 subscribers on YouTube.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been a smooth road for the most part but it can be rocky at times. When views and stuff weren’t always what I wanted and sometimes they still aren’t it can be demotivating, but once you see it through and forget about the analytics they just naturally come. People would tell me my content wasn’t entertaining and that used to get to my head, but I had to realize that not everyone was going to like what I put out to the public and I just blocked out all the noise and continued to do me. Another struggle I had was making sacrifices to help my success because I wouldn’t say I like letting go easily, I had to leave my relationship so I could get more content opportunities and I had to stop being friends with some people so I could be less distracted.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I vlog my life on YouTube and I specialize in lifestyle vlogs, comedy vlogs, travel vlogs, challenge videos, and personal development videos. I also make relatable and funny TikTok content. I’m known for dancing on TikTok with funny quotes and I’m known for funny videos on YouTube with my friends. Some people from my city know me from this thing I started in 11th grade called, Tucked Szn, where I came to school in goofy outfits with my shirt tucked in for a week straight and had people all over my school doing it and it kind of got district-wide. I’m most proud of not quitting, completing all the goals I’ve set for myself, stepping out of my comfort zone for certain videos, and slowly watching my content grow as I get older. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I’m genuinely myself on camera, I set people around me up for success, I never quit no matter how bad the process gets, and I tune out the distractions.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is playing Little League football with my friends and going to summer camp with my friends going on field trips.
