Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade Bristol
Hi Jade, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been a travel nurse for almost a decade and always have worked in ICU and in peri-operative services. I have really enjoyed what I am doing overall, but I realized that I, along with many of my peers, was facing some pretty serious burnout in relation to many changes that have occurred in healthcare over the years. I have also always wanted to be my own boss and that I felt it was time to redirect my knowledge and expertise in the medical field to something new.
I learned about medical aesthetics as a realistic opportunity for me to not only still help others (albeit, in a completely new form), but to learn something new and start a business that I am passionate about.
I have found it fascinating to learn so much, meet so many amazing people, and to truly appreciate the individual beauty that each person possesses!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve just opened, so it’s hard for me to feel like I am giving a complete look at all of the aspects.
I was fortunate enough to partner with a company called Moxie in the beginning. I feel that they completely streamlined the process of actually opening the business and making sure that that was all in place. There are a lot of things that you need to know that I would not have as quickly as I did with their guidance. They made it easy for me to connect with a doctor (my wonderful MD, Jason Wright, DO), appropriate insurance, and all of the licensing and legal mess that needs to be sorted through.
They also helped greatly with setting pharmacy accounts up, and have really wonderful partnerships with these pharmaceutical companies that also benefit me.
It was so streamlined and I was so focused and motivated, that I think I opened within 4-6 weeks of making the absolute decision to jump in and opening the doors!
In that sense, things went very smoothly! In other areas, it has been more difficult, but these are just the normal growing pains of opening a new business. There is a lot of stress that I don’t need to get into associated with that, but it makes it easier when you know that you are building something greater for the future!
We’ve been impressed with The Marcelline Dream, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business specializes in medical aesthetics. This includes things such as neurotoxins (botox is the most famous, but I LOVE Jeuveau), lips and other facial filler, skin peels, kybella (for jowl and under chin fat dissolving), medical grade skin care, Latisse (for lash growth/enhancement), and medical weight-loss (semaglutide and tirzepatide.
It’s a very cozy space and we have snacks, drinks, blanket and towel warmers, and lots of other little comforts.
I think the thing that sets my business apart is knowledge and education.
When I first took the certifications, I learned so much about all of the blood vessels, nerves, muscles, medical ratios of beauty, and so much more.
It is important to know all of this, so that you can be safe when treating a patient. People think the worst that can happen is a “botched” look, but there are other things that people need to know in order to make the best decisions for themselves!
I never knew before educating myself that you can actually occlude blood vessls in the face if you do not have the correct knowledge of anatomy and different techniques to improve safety. It is possible for someone to develop necrotic tissue, experience immediate blindness, or even a stroke! Proper education, technique, and reversal agents if the worst case scenario ever occurs are imperative.
I love using Jeuveau as my neurotoxin, people are so familiar with botox and dysport, but Jeuveau has been so fantastic for my clients so far and they have been loving it! It kicks in so fast, tends to last longer, gives some people that little glow, and just generally has taken the cake as my favourite ‘tox to work with.
I also think that the fillers I use helps set me apart. All fillers are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, but my favourite has been the RHA line of fillers. The “R” in RHA stands for resilient and they are so named because of their enhanced dynamic movement in the tissue. They meld well with the tissue and also tend to last longer due to their improved flexibilty and cohesiveness (up to 15+ months!) I also really like them becasue some other fillers have a very hydrophilic (water attracting) quality and this can actually make swelling and bruising worse and also lead to an unrealistic idea of what the final results will look like. The RHA line has been wonderful for instant results, great healing, and just a generally improved experience. I’ve even used it to fill acne scarring!
We also offer skin peels from VI Peel which are designed to be used in conjuction with their ‘tox treatment and produce fantastic, glowing skin in addition to the wrinkles relaxing/eliminating effects of the ‘tox.
I love having the medical weight-loss as a fantastic option, it is very convenient for people because other than the initial consultation appointment all the medication and supplies are delivered to the client’s house, so it is very convenient for people. I also offer 50% off the first month in a 12 week medical weight-loss package.
I also have some really fantastic packges and membership options! My most popular is a beauty bank option. This charges a monthly fee which is banked for the client each month in their wallet. This also gives a discount off of ‘tox and fillers. It’s a great deal and helps people budget well.
I also offer new client deals and promotions, free consultations, referral incentives, and other perks.
