Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Mitchell
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
What’s funny is I never grew up being interested in makeup. My grandma doesn’t wear makeup. My mom doesn’t wear makeup (well she does now.) But I have always been artsy. I get that from my dad. I grew up drawing, painting, etc and I guess it just translated into makeup once I went to college. I wanted to be a fashion designer.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There are always ups and downs in the beauty industry but that’s what makes the greats stand out. The ones that can survive the lows and push through as an entrepreneur to stay afloat.
Some struggles I had were really getting my name out there, in the beginning. Also building a solid makeup kit.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a makeup artist. I specialize in full coverage, glam looks. Like makeup you’d see on a red carpet. I’m known for my seamless application and lip combos. Lips are my favorite. I am most proud of making a living doing something that I love and sticking with it. What sets me apart from others is I genuinely love what I do,
I love my clients and I’ll do whatever for them!
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as happiness and reaching goals that you’ve set. No matter how small. That’s successful.
