Meet Jacqueline Donovan of Ohio Foot Docs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Donovan

Hi Jacqueline, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I did not even know podiatry existed or what is was. All I knew was I wanted to go into medicine. When I attended John Carroll University, Kent State held a career fair. I met a podiatrist who was speaking at it and afterward he invited me to spend time in his clinic. I worked as a medical assistant in his office for two years, learned as much as I could, saw a glimpse of what podiatry had to offer. Once I learned the extent of a podiatrist’s surgical capabilities I was hooked.

I completed my medical school career in Cleveland, Ohio and Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, moved to Columbus, Ohio to complete a 3 year surgical residency in foot and ankle surgery, and completed a 1 year fellowship in orthopedic trauma. I then practiced in Columbus for 4 years following completion of my fellowship.

I moved to Cleveland during Covid to be near family with my husband (Barrington) and two children, Barrington and Scarlett. I had multiple job offers fall through and decided to start my own business. During this time I was also offered to become full time faculty at KSUCPM where I now teach full time as well.

I am always striving to improve, I know that I am not perfect, but I do know that I can outwork anyone. This is the one thing I can credit my success to.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. Everyday there are challenges and they are always different. Facing those challenges head on every single day, make me a better Doctor, Teacher, Leader, Mother and wife.

We’ve been impressed with Ohio Foot Docs , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our social media handle @Ohiofootdocs likes to poke fun of all the bad shoegear we wear. Believe it or not most of the issues that we find with our foot and ankle are with what we are putting on our own feet!

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I have a passion about educating the community about the world of podiatry. We would love for you to spread the word of Ohiofootdocs on social media and follow along!
