Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Cantrell
Hi Lindsey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
A few years ago, while I was still a teacher in the classroom, my 10 month old went through a major sleep regression. He had always slept really well on his own so I had no idea what to do to get him back on track. During one of those middle of the night wakings rocking him in the chair, I began Googling everything sleep related. I came across the Sleep Sense program. I was instantly drawn towards it as it had a no-cry-it-out approach. I used their plan and saw results almost instantly. Within two nights, he was sleeping through the night again and taking better naps than he ever had.
At that time, I was looking to take a step out of the general classroom teaching position. I was approach by Sleep Sense to go through their training and certification program to help other tired families that wanted more customized and troubleshooting support. I dove in headfirst and have helped about 200 families in a 1:1 support model to find sleep bliss within these past 4 years.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Sleep is not a one-size-fits-all. I originally thought that having the training and education would be a breeze to apply to each child in the same way. But this is not true. Every child is a little bit different and so is their sleep. This often why generic plans and theories do not work for so many children. I have learned so much over these past few years and feel very confident that I can help any parent that is ready to commit to the betterment of their child’s sleep. I begin with a customized plan for each child, but then am there to speak with the parents every day for 2-3 weeks while implementing this plan. This ensure sleep success and helps builds the parents’ understanding and confidence navigating their child’s sleep going forward.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I help tired children (and parents) achieve better sleep. I work one-on-on with families to personalize their child’s sleep needs and goals. I create a plan, go over each step of it with the parents, and then track their child’s sleep with daily check-ins for 2-3 weeks. I have roughly 98% success rate after working with about 200 families in ages ranging from 3 months to 7 years old. What sets this sleep coaching apart from any other is the level of support parents receive for troubleshooting, encouraging, and answering questions along the way.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love Columbus for how family friendly it is. There is so much to do with young children around the greater area. There is also a tremendous community to support and education new parents in all aspects and I am grateful to be a part of it.
