Check Out Jessica Presley’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Presley.

Jessica Presley

Hi Jessica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a young adult out of High School I managed a few Photography Studios. I was a Regional Manager but loved the photography aspect of the job more than the managerial role. That company eventually went out of business and I spent the next few years working in career fields that I just did not fully love or enjoy. My son began wrestling in a Youth Club a few years back and I looked to hire a Videographer to document his Team’s journey at the District & State Tournaments, while I photographed the team as well. Fast forward to present day, the person i hired is now my other half and we run our business together. I am handling more of the Business Manager & Photographer role, while my other half, he handles networking and videography. We are still under the 5 years mark of operations, but we continue to grow and partner with other entrepreneurs and learn as we go. Neither of have a degree in what we are doing, however we both love what we do. I couldn’t feel more blessed right now because I have a job that I truly love and it allows me to meet so many new people and have my children with me when I travel. I think it is very important for my children to see their Mother taking on such a leadership role and for them to see my achieving my goals and working a job I love.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road, absolutely not. To this day I still get stuck at a crossroads and have to make some very difficult choices. Sometimes one of those difficult choices is being away from my children for a week or more at a time. I am sure any parent can understand that struggle. There are also months were business is at an all time high and the workload is literally 24 hours a day 7 days a week, but then we will have some months were we are slow and our budget is tight. I understand the struggles of building your own company but you can’t truly understand it until you are calculating what bills you can pay by when, or what you can afford that month and what will have to wait.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My primary role is Business Manager and Photographer. I write service contracts and agreements for our clients and business partners. I manage our website and do the ordering for our merchandising. An essential role I have I researching and learning the most current marketing trends and social media trends. Understanding social media analytics is vital because my job primarily revolves around using social media to market our company’s products. My favorite part of my job though has to be, without a doubt, the photography. When I photograph athletes and clients and deliver their Galleries, I truly love how happy they are and the reactions of families getting their portraits. I believe I am best known for my photos, promo videos and (this may sound silly) my grumpy face. I apparently have a face that looks grumpy or unapproachable but I am actually a really nice person once you talk with me. Lol. I am most proud of reaching over 2 million accounts with my Instagram account without using any ads or promotional tools. Just by producing high quality content in a very niche environment I was able to get some amazing Follower engagement and interactions.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
None of my success can be credited strictly to just myself. I have thankfully had numerous people supporting my adventure. The biggest supporter and motivator would be my business partner and significant other, Andrew Gasber. He learned a lot about self-motivation and about being a success driven person through the sport of wrestling, as he himself wrestled for years. He has been in my corner as well as my children. My children have been patient with my need to travel and long work hours. We have a business associate, Coach Buck Watkins, who has been an absolute blessing to myself and Andrew. He often sends morning motivational texts and just has a way of creating a positive mindset for what you are trying to achieve. He has been a wrestling coach for years but I personally think he would be a great Mindset Coach for athletes and business professionals. The biggest supporter for our company as a whole I would have to say is the owner of Defense Soap and Coach at Westshore Wrestling in Lakewood Ohio, Guy Sako. Guy was one of Andrew’s coaches and is now our son’s coach. He has been supportive throughout our journey and continues to encourage us to go after our goals. We couldn’t ask for a better man to be in our corner along with the wrestling coaches from St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio.
