Meet Jenna Courtot

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Courtot.

Jenna Courtot

Hi Jenna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

Thanks for having me! Some of my backstory began at The Ohio State University in 2018. Out of curiosity and a desire to break up the long lecture days, I enrolled in Yoga I. Unexpectedly, I fell in love with my first savasana experience. Years later, this experience led me to guide others to discover guilt-free rest. I now teach yoga three times a week and practice the art of health coaching, impacting lives in ways I never expected.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Yes, there were real mountains to overcome, primarily my doubts and fears. I had to face the fear of public speaking and learn to trust my ability to lead and connect with others meaningfully. However, I knew my message mattered, so I committed to sharing it, even when my voice shook. Through this process, I discovered gifts I never knew I possessed: speaking, leading, and storytelling.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

I specialize in the art of stress and anxiety support. I study it, teach it, and most proudly, live it. Balancing the responsibilities of everyday life is challenging but unquestionably invaluable. It’s a never-ending practice that requires a village and a boatload of humility. I am far from perfect. However, what sets me apart from others is that I keep my values in order, no matter what. This ensures my priorities are as well. The rest somehow falls into place, and incredible things have room to grow.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?

The amount of time I spend making playlists! You don’t typically think about it when becoming a yoga teacher or taking a class, but it’s one of my favorite parts of curating a session. Music is powerful. It sets the tone, paces the flow, and directs my cues and stories. I love using music to create a message, whatever it may be on a given day. It’s a meticulous and intentional art, but I love it.
