Check Out Dominique Chambers’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Chambers

Hi Dominique, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello my name is Dominique Chambers also known as Thats Dope Dom. I started my journey with ElleGant Creations June 2018. I started out as a crafter making tutus, bows, T-shirts, and flip flops. October 2018 I was then challenged to do my son’s 3rd birthday party. From there I was introduced to the balloon world and I have been twisting balloons since.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has not been a smooth journey. I call them small setbacks, but in my mind there is nothing that could stop me from reaching my highest potential. My first setback was me actually putting myself out there and finding clients that would trust me doing balloon work at their events. Another area that I struggled in was not giving up on myself when people didn’t believe in my dreams. Even after those things I still overcome!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I provide balloon pieces for all occasions. I give people joy and happiness by creating unique balloon pieces. Who doesn’t walk into a party and say “WOW look at those balloons!”.

This year I have also added balloon twisting to my services offered. Although I’ve only had a few bookings. I’m looking forward to where this journey will take me. The thing I love most about twisting is that it takes the edge off of balloons and I’m able to explore my creativity more. I love to see the smiles on children and adults faces while I’m twisting different balloon pieces. That type of joy is priceless.

Im most proud of me not giving up on myself when no one else believed in me. Balloons is something I’ve always enjoyed doing!

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Over the past 5 years I’ve mostly been self taught. If it was something that I wanted to learn I would start off with trial and error. From there If I didn’t quite get it I would indulge myself in YouTube University. March 2024 I attended my first balloon convention “FLOAT”. I highly recommend these conventions to anyone wanting to further their skills in the balloon world.
