Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Black
Hi Cameron, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a passion for artistry and at age 14 I realized that makeup was my life. I started doing make up for friends in high school. I even had a principal who would give me extra bus passes to do her eyebrows. At age 20 I started working for a large department store with Dior cosmetics. I worked for Dior for about two years, undergoing intense training, which I will never forget. I left Dior to work at Saks fifth Avenue for Chanel this time. I had also begun doing bridal make up privately. I sold luxury cosmetics at Saks for roughly 2 years before going back to My first love Dior cosmetics I worked for Dior for another six years before branching off and , doing freelance Work. I currently offer a variety of services from professional makeup! I have worked on TV sets and many fashion shows as well as teaching makeup courses.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ask any artist and they will tell you it is not a quick way to get rich lol. But I would not trade it for the world! I’m rich in so many other ways through my art and what it does for people.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in long wear make up applications for special events, weddings photo shoots, documentaries pageants prom and much more! I am known for applying Makeup in a way that keeps my customer feeling natural. I would say I am most proud of my ability to empower my clients rather than change them.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
And the age of social media I depend a lot on Facebook, Instagram and other platforms to make my work visible and contact potential clients.
