Today, we’d like to introduce you to Qasim McCreagh. Qasim was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Tia Williams.
Hi Qasim , we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m from Cincinnati, a product of Cincinnati Public Schools. I’m a life-long Bearcat having earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Cincinnati.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I dabbled in a couple of industries present in Cincinnati (financial services, regulatory compliance, casino gaming, and higher education), but one of the industries that seems to keep growing in our region is marketing. One of the marketing firms that sprung up is called AGAR, which is one of the main marketing and labor firms behind the Cincinnati Music Festival. After working the event for several years, I was essentially promoted to be a lead, which meant I was given a degree of creative control over my team.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Tia Williams and Fashion_is_a_habit and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Fashion_is_a_habit .
I wouldn’t consider myself a “stylish” person, so when part of my assignment as marketing team lead was to come up with a fun outfit for my team to wear, I had to turn to one of the most stylish people I know, Tia. Tia had developed a business Fashion_is_a_habit, so I immediately turned to her for support. She was very professional throughout the whole process, and did not make me feel weird for not knowing what would be the best look for my team and I. Tia gathered information about the event, the composition of the team, and our exact function. She developed a style for myself upon which the rest of the team based their outfits. I felt comfortable and stylish; my team turned heads during the event, and that was thanks to Tia’s work.
