Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Zambrano.
Hi Ana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always had a passion for art, and after studying dentistry at university for only 3 months, I realized that it was not for me. We all burned with talents, and mine was not going in that direction. Among so many arts, I chose visual arts, which attracted me the most because I express emotions and never stop learning. I started documenting stories in my local church and doing it more professionally and independently. From Venezuela to Florida, there was a significant change in cultures and worldviews, but that difference unites us in a certain way; I love to be with new people in each photography session and capture images that express real emotions so my clients can enjoy. Apart from doing it for work, I want it every day; I take the camera with me and collect memories with it and those I meet along the way.
Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, It has been challenging. Money has been the biggest problem. When you grow up in a country with significant economic issues, choosing to make a living from art is difficult. When you have no influence or money, you must love what you do because if you don’t, you will probably quit soon.
I appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ana Zambrano Photography?
I am an independent photographer; I love experimenting with different areas of photography, be it events, product photography, couples, pregnancy, newborns, and others. I differentiate myself from others because it is not just a business for me; it is part of my daily life; even if they do not pay me, I am always taking photographs or documenting something because I love and enjoy what I do when others only wait for the payment, I appreciate the process. I am proud of not giving up despite not having much to make my dream possible. I wantwant others to know my business philosophy: I am always open to taking photographs that show a natural part of people, express genuine emotions, and enjoy the moment of the photos. If you can’t do it, we can repeat it without additional price; in this way, I am committed to my clients’ experience.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from growing up.
I have perfect childhood memories, but I remember with joy that I usually posted photographs on websites like We Heart It, Tumblr, or Facebook. After school, I usually checked my profile to see if anyone saw my posts; when my blog on Facebook started to grow, I was stunned; I couldn’t believe people liked my style. I was living in a small, low-income community with dreams of being different and going more than that, and it meant the world to me then.
