Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Rowe.
Hi Angela, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello! Thank you for this lovely opportunity! I started my social media accounts, using them as a fun way to connect with friends and family, keeping them informed about current events in my life, such as going to nursing school, what happened after graduation, etc. As I became more familiar with and interested in activities such as theme park blogging & travel vlogging with my husband, my community evolved into what I have today. Today, my Instagram community is small but friendly and extremely kind, and members are always commenting on positive things and lifting others. One of the things that makes my community unique, especially on Instagram, is that I have gained followers through blogging my experiences during my fertility treatments and my first IVF (in-vitro fertilization) cycle last year. I have connected with so many others who have had similar experiences with infertility and treatments for such issues, and it is nice to know that I am not alone. My YouTube community has also grown as I started doing product reviews and fun videos, such as shopping hauls and sharing unique finds from popular retailers like Temu, SHEIN, Amazon, Home Goods, etc. I have enjoyed working with several lovely brands because of my social media accounts. It’s pretty fun to try out new products and share reviews!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road as far as content creation, especially for the susceptible subject matter that I have posted about regarding fertility treatments and a miscarriage that I experienced last year after IVF treatment. Sometimes, as a content creator, it is hard because people develop certain expectations of you and your content and want to know every little detail. You’ve built up this wonderful community that feels like they have gotten to know you personally, and you feel like you owe everyone an explanation. However, you do have to learn how to practice discernment sometimes with personal things.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work full-time as a registered nurse when I’m not creating content on my Instagram or YouTube channel. I currently work in Pain Medicine and some days I sedate for procedures. I am very proud of my nursing work and am passionate about helping people. I always wanted a career where I could make a difference in people’s lives, and nursing was just a perfect fit for me. I am most proud that I constantly hear from patients how terrified they were prior to a procedure, and I make them feel at ease by helping them through the process. That makes me feel like I am fulfilling my purpose. My positive outlook sets me apart from others, and I hope my positivity makes someone’s day when they need it the most.
What makes you happy?
Many things make me happy, but I’ll try to keep it short and sweet lol. Being with my husband, dogs, and family makes me happy. I can relax and be my goofy self with them. We always have a great time together. My dogs make me very happy. They are my children right now, and I love snuggling with them. I also love seeing individuals who are hurting or will get better. That makes me cry happy tears.
