Meet Angie Ilg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Ilg.

Angie Ilg

Hi Angie, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
For as long as I can remember, life felt so confusing and overwhelming. Even as a little girl. As a teenager, this led me to a fascination with psychology. I think deep down I wanted to find some answers and “figure it all out”.

I knew I was feeling a lot of difficult things, but I didn’t know what to do with these feelings. Eventually, I worked up the courage to try therapy and medication, neither of which were a good fit for me at that time.

In college, I explored things like Buddhism and started to find other ways of viewing life. Then one day a book showed up at my doorstep (literally) that would change my life. It was written by a life coach. I’d heard of coaching but thought it sounded like a funny idea and didn’t think much beyond that.

But there was something to the guidance she was offering in this book. It was practical, deep, and transformative, even just me on my own reading and doing the exercises.

I went on to personally work with this coach, and it sparked the idea in me that maybe one day I could do that too.

After years of personal work, I worked up the courage yet again to go for it. This time, to enroll in coach training. And from there, I opened my business and began coaching. Just a few people at first, but over the years, it’s grown to reach many and help them in the ways that I was helped by so many practitioners and teachers along my journey.

Now I have the pleasure of helping people enjoy life again, without all the overwhelm and self-doubt. Although I’ve worked with people internationally and around the country, lately most people are in the Cleveland area. We get to work 1:1 together, taking bold, brave steps forward and realizing the visions and goals that are most important and exciting to them. It’s so rewarding!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a challenge navigating owning a business without a having a background in it. I’ve learned a lot through trial and error, fellow coaches, and in business courses I’ve taken along the way.

Self-doubt has also come up! Learning how to work with this and secure the part that can feel insecure has helped me not only in my business and life but in the work I do with others.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Angie Ilg?
I’m a life coach. I help people enjoy life without all the overwhelm.

Coaching is one of the most powerful ways I’ve found to create change and transformation within yourself and your life. My clients are able to see things in a whole new way, which allows them to take the steps forward to:

Move to a new city,

Get into a relationship,

Get out of relationship,

Change careers,

Advance in their careers,

Love themselves more,

Feel confident,

Know who they are on a deeper level,

And ultimately, enjoy this one precious life.

As you can see, it’s very action-oriented, and it’s changed on both an internal and external level.

For me personally as a coach, I love seeing my clients create more ease in their lives, love themselves more deeply, and recognize a power within themselves that was already there, they just needed a little support to access it.

I find this work fascinating because I’m constantly learning new things and deepening in the tools and skills I already know and work with.

Brand-wise, I’m proud that I can share honestly about my own experience and my own truth and help others be seen as a result of that.

I offer private 1:1 coaching, and they can check out my website or reach out to me directly to find out more about that: angie@angieilg.com.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important thing I learned is that no matter how much guidance you have, you have to learn how to trust yourself. Through this, I’ve not only been able to experience more peace but also create a business that works for me. It’s so important to trust that you can do things differently than other people and still create a successful business. Not everyone has to be online marketing a ton on social media, for example.
