My journey from loss to purpose led me to establish Unique Candle Co., driven by a poignant loss and a fervent desire to effect meaningful change. Witnessing my grandmother’s struggle with cancer and its impact on her mental health after chemotherapy was the catalyst for this transformation.
The pivotal moment struck on January 10, 2007, when my grandmother passed away. This profound loss ignited a commitment within me to contribute significantly to the medical field despite the precise path not being immediately clear. I felt an innate calling to assist others and make a positive impact.
My professional background in healthcare, with six years as a phlebotomist and experience as a Mental Health Doula, provided me with invaluable insights and fueled my passion. However, it wasn’t until 2019 that my entrepreneurial spirit soared, leading me to establish Unique Candle Co. Crafted from vegan soy with all-natural ingredients; these candles aren’t just products; they symbolize a choice for better health. Through their herbal scents and clean, slow-burning qualities, they offer subtle yet impactful positive effects on mental health.
Yet, my journey was filled with obstacles. Overcoming bouts of depression, anxiety, and enduring verbal abuse while endeavoring to break generational curses and raise my three incredible boys as a single mother was incredibly challenging. Nevertheless, I learned to perceive these challenges as steppingstones towards growth. My children became my driving force, propelling me towards realizing my highest potential.
Today, Unique Candle Co. stands as a testament to my determination advocating for both mental health and sustainable, toxin-free living. My journey embodies resilience, aspiring to inspire anyone facing hurdles on their quest to make a difference.
